Well, today is the grand day. Decisive match in the world club championship.

Last non-european win was 10 years ago. So, we are hoping for a miracle here.

But I guess its because miracles exist that we still believe.

Yeah, it wasnt enough and Chelsea beat us as expected.

Thats the real difference between being "elite" and being "good".

"Elite" players will be always the strongest not just in terms of techniques, physically but mainly mentaly. And Chelsea's players are all of them a mental stronghold. Despite being physically tired they performed the same from start to finish (120 minutes) while the "good" players as soon as they get tired, they start to falter.

Its not the end, but a new begining. God knows what he does, and im sure the best is yet to come.

I just watched this video from Maximilian. He used to play Final Fantasy XI. And even though he never mentions it here, I found his monologue really rung true for it as well.



He talks about "looseness" vs. "tightness" as an attribute of fighting games, and how a lot of his favourite games tend to lean towards the former. The more open-ended a game is designed, the longer it takes players to optimize their performance. Giving players more options makes for a higher barrier of entry, but also makes the game fresher for longer.

As I listened to him talk about aspects of some games that offer more options, I was thinking to FFXI strategies that use completely non-meta job combinations for optimal performance. No Paladin or Rune Fencer tank because a Monk's TP-inhibiting strengths are too important, or a Dancer healer because the enemy uses too many silencing techniques.

I dunno. I just thought it was neat.
Also, Max is super wholesome and his hype can get even someone like me interested in fighting games lol

This is why I enjoy watching his content so much. Everything always feels so genuine and wholesome and I generally agree with his opinions more often than naught.

And yeah, I have also had the inkling to try fighting games after watching and listening to him but I definitely know I have very little aptitude for it, lol.

Lol yeah, there's another I'm waiting for that has the mega but it might be too big. I think they didnt include it in this one because it's based off the first show so they didn't have mega outside the movie.

I was introduced to his content about a decade ago when I stumbled upon a new group of friends who were all really into fighting games. Between Maximilian's "Assist Me" series, and the friends playing it near me, I got really into Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

Even though I wasn't great at execution, I had a lot of fun in the lab coming up with new combos. The more skilled among them even praised me for my creativity, pointing out pros that would emerge with combos months after I'd used them.

But I think that's always been my thing. And that's why my favourite games are the ones that are open-ended enough to really allow you to let loose and break stuff. I don't have the dexterity for anything at a competitive level, so I compensate with theorycrafting.

It's basically the idea that because a bunch of woke SJW took Tolkien's work and decided to stuff in things like black elves, black drawves, and turned Galadria into a "strong female Mary Sue" in armor with a sword then that they are evil. It's heavy "content creator" on Youtube and Twitter fodder at the moment because it's the current hotness for clicks.

Kind of the idea that not everything needs to be racially diverse if it didn't make sense to the original.

If you've been on the internet for any length of time, you can probably think of some weird version of this that has happened in the past. History repeats. Quickly what comes to mind is casting Scarlet Johansen as the lead in the live action Ghost In The Shell. Everyone thought she should be... Japanese. Another giant clusterfuck of tweets and hot takes on youtube were about that version of ghostbusters with the all-female cast.

Need more racial diversity in a fantasy world where the primary story's core premise is about multiple races working together to solve a problem, I guess.

Mother ***, by the time of the Second Age she was already over 5,000 years old at the beginning of it, and at the time of the events of the show she would be over 7,500. For *** sake they didn't even give her weapons/armor that appear Elven.

Got to love Hollywood rewriting and respinning established, fleshed out, and definitive characters/storylines to fit in their politics.

This might be a bit divisive statement, but I 100% agree. I think many people (myself included) are totally sick and tired of all the woke *** in today's society. We didn't have or need that crap in any of the previous decades we've all been alive (at least not nearly this much). So why is it needed in modern times?

It's basically ruining nearly every aspect of things people enjoy, like in movies, tv shows and video games. Not to mention with people having more issues trying to build and establish relationships now and days vs in the past, cause of all the uber feminism stuff hating on men.

Glad for the delay for bug checking, but we know there are going to be bugs. Then again, I'll probably only do a one-time playthrough for 100% completion and LLG challenge simultaneously and then "shelf it" for a while (like I did with 1-5 pixel remasters) due to lack of additional endgame content being removed. I still think GBA version with multiple bug-fix patches will be the ideal way for me to play FFVI.

Right now, my mind is focused on my first 100% replay of Octopath Traveler. It's been calling me for a few days and it's been a little over a year since my last playthrough (which was my first playthrough). Probably tonight or tomorrow for that to begin.
