Wrists are available even at the end, as are the Steepled Hats if you want to do the cotton robe synth for gil. You can buy the Wrists in Dali (still open on disc 4) and Steepled Hats in Burmecia.
99 Wrists + 99 Steepled hats = 99 Cotton Robes, you make more money selling the robes than you did buying the mats but you need about 40k to buy that many. Can be done as early as Lindblum since they sell the hats there.
When FF9 comes out on PC and I finally play it, should I look at a guide first? Are there major miss-able things etc?
Also going to mention to not sell your equip when you're done with them, you might need those pieces later for synthesis. Also, there's items that are no longer accessible at the end of the game like the zorlin's dagger and I think wrist or leather wrist that are used in recipes.
I sorta recommend just playing it for fun first and then going back and getting everything, that's what I've always done anyway!
Not to mention there's a certain somewhere that has certain enemies, that are only hurt significantly with low level weapons. Worth hanging onto that cheapo dagger and whatnot.
Don't NEED to since you get all their starting weapons in there but it's good to have all weapons and armor in the game to learn skills from anyway (and synthesis later on as well). There's no need to sell them since you'll get enough gil anyway.
Also when it comes to stats just go Magic for magic users (even if it lowers some other ones) and Strength for physical attackers and you're good. Don't really need to worry about defense etc. There's a bunch of armors that can absorb or reduce elemental damage by half/100% so if you die, simply check your gear and try again. Steal EVERYTHING from EVERY boss for great early gear. Every single boss when you have Zidane.
I always take forever on bosses because I steal everything they have unless the last remaining item is something pointless like the default Dagger when I have the Mage Masher or Mythril Dagger or something.

Should steal it all anyhow. Always steal with Zidane. Steal, steal, steal. It's integral to more stealing success and other things later on!

Actually, only affects Thievery damage. You need Master Thief from Thief Gloves to make stealing success go up. Bandit stops Steal from missing.

...yeah. I'm seeing that now after looking it up. That could be one of those things I "heard" in the old days and mistakenly believed, or that was correlated with poor data sampling.
What's your take on chip music, folks? I'm debating whether to include it in my aggregated uploads. Some are fairly tasteful, others are strange, loud and/or obnoxious. Kind of depends on your tastes and perception to stuff like this..

My bad.
Without Bandit equipped it uses a formula to determine whether your steal will be successful or not so equipping Bandit is a must. It makes steal 100% but you might not always hit the slot you want (common slot, uncommon slot, rare slot, very rare slot)
Very Rare slot is 1/256 chance and 32/256 with Master Thief.
while we are not on the subject... I wonder if you would entertain a ..um..business proposal.... of sorts...
/tents fingers evil-y
I would like for you to provide a quotation for... a group of anonymous client investors who may in the future be interested in hiring someone, not unlike yourself for the express purpose of kicking spicy in the balls so hard that he sees jesus and jesus weeps for him and his pain...
not like right now or anything...don't wind up just yet... we will need to haggle out all the terms of the agreement and...
just so we are clear we are talking field goal kick from your own end zone and the goal posts are in outer space somewhere...
it would help if you played soccer at some point in your life...
just putting it out there.... to see what you think...
Well ***. My download for your obscenely large pdf file seems to be stuck at 2.4/3.4 GB. Might have to re-attempt that later.
Oh that's multiple pdfs, if you want just the IX I can do that separate, and if that still doesn't work I should have a ssh server up again this weekend.

Just got it. Didn't realize it was the mother load with strategy guides, art books and other goodies. Thanks for this treasure coffer of FF goodness.
On that note, I'm suddenly hyped as hell to play IX on Steam.

Well he at least didn't chose them, they're the classic black mage outfit(which doesn't make them good anyway).
I mean, Garnet's tracksuit isn't that good either. Zidane is probably the only well dressed character in that game, unless Kuja in lingerie counts as clothing too.
So I pre-ordered FF Explorers the other day using a gift card, and I don't have Prime. Should I be able to cancel, upgrade to Prime and then get the 20% discount?

That's not a bad idea, but it might take some time before that credit goes back onto your gift card after canceling. Probably faster than if you used a credit card/debit, but still might take time. Ask their customer service and maybe they can just comp you. They're pretty awesome like that time to time.
Vivi is perfect in every way and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.
And Garnet's outfit is cute for the style of the game, though some of the cosplay images I've seen sort of leave it lackluster when translated into normal human proportions, it's true.

This is a thread that I found on another website I post at. It can be really really interesting. I thought it deserved a place here.
Post your random thoughts for the day here, or anything else that intrigues you.
For starters, is it possible to give constructive critism to someone who doesn't have a neck? I totally just walked by a girl who didn't. Someone isn't getting a necklace for Valentines day!
And who decided black and white can't be colors? I want to say a racist. I really do.
