There are times when lossy format are interesting. Particularly with older portable players. Ogg-vorbis is a free format and that alone makes it a pretty good choice.
Ogg format always gave me conversion problems. Never looked back.

Though that's true and I would agree with you, the word anime has been reappropriated to refer to Japanese animation. I wouldn't dare say that Futurama is anime, even though by the most base sense, it is.
