Any idea what this thing is? It looked like a fish, but came out of a hole in the sand like an eel. Forever confused. :( I think it's a tube worm no? Although '*** Fish' does have a nice ring to it. Sorry, so many pages late already. ;_; I might as well say "12345 get!" now, while I have a chance. :/ The /v/ threads for E3 are always so much more interesting than the actual streams.
Anybody know some good jokes? I'm sort of down today :/
Or something happeh Am I the only one that thinks this looks like pakman?

It's always bad when you're working a job with no set hours, and after 6 hours of shoveling, you reach a logical stopping point for the day only to hear "Welp, let's get started!" This is tomorrow ***, let's leave.

The work boys are brutal. Brutal!
Ok, so, CCL drives everyone crazy. She drives the boss crazy because she whines about petty things, she instigates arguments on purpose, and when he says to build something that she doesn't want to build, she conveniently can't find the materials for it and states that we're out. (So then we order more and two seconds later someone finds the materials that she said we are out of. Case in point-- today upstairs assembly needs 30 black actuators. Boss man told CCL to make them on Friday. CCL said we were out of actuator housing. We all went home for the weekend. This morning Boss man asked me to make actuators, I went out to get the materials, and lo and behold, there was a big box of actuator housings right on the shelf where they were supposed to be. Derp.) She drives the boys crazy because all she will talk about are her kids (and how much they don't love her,) her cats (to three guys and a girl who all dislike cats,) and religion (in a room full of people, NONE of whom agree with her religious views.) So. CCL gets Mondays off. Today I'm sitting there putting together the actuators she was supposed to do on Friday, and the boys tell me that they have a plan to make CCL "change." CCL is a 62 year old woman who's been set in her ways for 62 years. She's not going to change. Anyways, whatever. The boys' plan is, we all stop talking to her and ignore her and be short with her until she starts behaving. Peer pressure, you know. And I... I can't. What if it was me? What if I was a 62 year old woman with no friends, who's kids dislike her, who has no one for company except five cats, who came to work only to find out that everyone at work dislikes her? I told the boys I wouldn't do it. They said it was nice to feel sorry for her and all, but all her problems are self-inflicted. She was married and had friends, she divorced for no other reason than because she wanted "independence." She has spent the last 20 years trying to live her kids' lives for them, to the point of trying to name their children for them. She chooses to bring up topics that she knows no one else enjoys. So yes, true, all of her problems are self-inflicted. But it doesn't keep me from pitying her. So now I am stuck in a moral dilemma. Do I go along with the evil plan to force CCL to behave herself at work, thus making the work environment more suitable and enjoyable for everyone? Or are CCL's feelings more important to me than everyone else's happiness and work satisfaction? At what point do one person's feelings outweigh everyone else's annoyances? At what point does everyone else working together to delete their annoyances equal just everyone else ganging up on one woman to bully her? I already told the boys I wouldn't do it. At what point do the boys get mad that I'm not going along with it and start bullying me too? Even if they don't start bullying me too, at what point do I feel sorry enough for CCL to tattle on the boys to Boss man and end their fun, and potentially end their jobs? Sorry, so many pages late already. ;_; I might as well say "12345 get!" now, while I have a chance. :/ Nothing on the regular Wikipedia page looks anything like it. The one in the picture I took, and in your link, appear to be an actual fish of some sort, where tube worms are classified as invertebrates (which this one clearly appears to be a vertebrate). Also said: The "tube worm" resembles giant lipsticks. They have no eyes, gut, or stomach. Though I did notice one interesting thing about tube worms. Wikipedia said: They survive of off the bacteria inside of their body which keep them alive. Phoenix.Kojo said: » What's $499?
Odin.Liela said: » That does seem a very passive-aggressive high-school sort of solution? The cold-shoulder until she gets the "hint" and changes her own behaviour to something they want? Did anyone communicate to her what was making them feel uncomfortable? Does she even realise what the behaviour is they want from her, such that she could even change (provided she is perceptive enough to even pick up on the cold-shoulder bit?) I would think it would be best to talk to her about it first, then if nothing changes, go to management and have them gently do it rather than make an uncomfortable work environment. If peers or management talk to her first, in a diplomatic HR-friendly manner, it might solve the issue. :/ Having more negativity in the workplace will just make everyone more miserable later no? |
