True, to a degree, but it isnt the same level of idiocracy that is facebook or myspace. Also isn't nearly as riddled with adds and requests. I am not going to log into FFXIAH.com and find 20 requests for me to play some random game. Here, i can check the forum, post if i feel like it to talk about a subject at hand, and leave without being bothered. Facebook is just useless if you dont post updates constantly or play their games and other stupid crap.....

I usually block or partially block people that post everything about their day on facebook. I don't give a ***that you went from your house to the gas station and back to your house. Maybe I'd care if you saw a space ship on the way.
Personally I love FB because I live almost 900 miles from everyone in my family and all of my friends I grew up with. It's way easier to read little tidbits about them, and they about me, than it is to call or text the hundred of them that there are. Especially now with being pregnant. I have dr appts twice a week, every week to make sure everything is fine. It's WAAAY easier to pop a post on FB about him being healthy than it is to call everyone that cares.

I agree with you bluespoon and magnuss, facebook can be useful to keep in contact with friends who you dont get to talk to that much. But so can Skype. I prefer skype because if i want i can post a messege by my name so if people are curious, they can read it and know whats up. I can either call people or text them from skype, either computer to computer for free or from my computer to american phones for like 2 cents a minute, which is a godsend when stationed overseas.
Maybe it's because i'm a guy and i view things differently. If i want to keep in touch, every now and then i will call you or try to reach out to you, and my friends would do the same to me. If i don't care.....well i just wont be contacting them now will i?

I like skype for talking to IG friends, but I can just use my phone to call anyone else if I want or need to speak with them. It's so annoying having my mother on facebook, and I know this sounds awful, but facebook makes it so I get away with calling her less. (She called me literally crying yesterday at 7am because she couldn't make her facebook work. All she had to do was read TWO words on the screen and she would have known the reason and how to fix it.)
Hey, I'm a guy too (last I checked), but without fb, I wouldn't have been able to get in touch with my old high school friends half a country away. So there's that.

Fair enough reasons guys. Like i said Facebook is good for some people, just not all. For me it isnt good. But still, more power to you guys ^^ glad you got into contact with some old friends.
