Id be a NM that could be spawned once every 8 years, and the item drop would come from another NM that would only spawn once every 4 years, and that NM would have a pop item that comes from an NM that could only spawn every 2 years, so on and so forth...

Well 1% for the NM's that would spawn like every couple hrs to every couple days, maybe. But for something to spawn every 2 years and every 4 years.... thats pretty cruel to do a 1% drop rate.. I would ATLEAST make it 2-3% lol
Can you imagine though if there was in fact a NM that would only spawn/could only be spawned, every half decade to a decade... I would get so damn impatient
I dont even know what kind of gear or weapon that would drop, would be worth that kind of waiting game...

A long time ago someone sparked a rumor that there was this NM in Ro'Maeve that spawned once a year and took on the appearance of that weird alien looking dude with the robe and staff from the Windurst missions. Turned out to be a total hoax once people dug into the dats.

Dunno about that model, but it sounds like good ol' Fazasher Death Weapon. Shikigami Weapon was supposedly a response to this and the whole thing just confused people even more.

Hmmm, the rumor I had in mind is much older. Far before Shikigami was even made. It was supposed to be that strange alien guy from windy missions that supposedly popped near the fountain in ro'maeve every year. Pretty lame and lulzy considering server maint and all.
NO he was saying they made shikigami in response to that rumor or so the rumor goes. Kinda like supposedly they made taisaijin in response to people saying they got a refresh scroll off of a taisai. Ironically the nm does drop the scroll but you have to not kill the taisai to get it lol
Oh okay. Well they were nice enough to make Shikigami actually drop something nice. Totally a great response from SE especially to make it invisible and roaming too. I wish they responded to more BS people make up just for lulz.
