how does anyone still even play playstation 2? I mean is money really that tight? thats like sticking to xbox 1 for another 3 years
I've played on all 3 versions, and I prefer playing on the PS2 easily. The original xbox wasn't even worth the plastic it's made out of, and the 360 is an epic design failure.
I'm saying, why buy a whole new system (PS3/360/PC) and spend all that money just to play the same game you're already playing on a system you already enjoy.
PC *** trolls PS2 *** cause there update is glitching /thread
instead of PC *** throwing the bomb on PS2 players, shouldent we be trying to figure out whats going on? afterall, players are players, and regardless to what they play on. for all you people know, your best in-game friends could play on PS2 or PS3.
How about the PC gamers stop telling the PS2 players what to do and go post in a more relevant thread?
I read this forum on my phone. It cannot run XI. Please don't bother with "helpful" suggestions.
Can those with the problem please post how they are running the game? I'm trying to update now, so this thread is of interest. I'm running Japanese XI on a 1st gen PS3, no problems so far.
i play on PC and PS2 . i prefer PS2 especially when WHM/RDM/SCH because it makes healing ppl not in PT easier and i find its performance areas that have alot of S/R traffic to be a lil better than the PCs i use . but much more so about the ability to quickly target alliance members . between the 2 systems each has its advantages over the other , or so i have found in these near 7 years . IMHO there is no superior system , its all a matter of taste . tho i have to admit non-PS2 has stunning graffix . the detail available is just amazing .

You must be a moron.
Just going to leave it like that.
Do you know anyone that plays on playstation 2 because they believe it's a superior experience?
me, so:
you really do? I apologize then, I'm surprised
I've run the game side by side on ps2 360 and pc for a long time and quite frankly I notice glitches in the pc version, and the 360 version has issues only because it's well on a 360... I still need to get around to making a video of the comparison, I may be able to do it during winter break, not sure considering I may have to put in extra hours at work when I don't have classes... (speaking of classes I gtg, I have 2 days worth of school work to do)
Does anyone remember back in the day when PS2 in NA just came out, and everyone who was already playing hated them? I thought that went away. I simply dislike the fact that the game was designed for PS2 because it is restrictive on game design, NOT because I have some weird grudge against those who play on the system.
Honestly, lets have all parties (PS2, PC, 360) imagine what it would be like if the game did not have the limitations that arise from being PS2-based. Wouldn't it be wonderful? Still, I know realistically it will never happen, and I can understand how frustrated the PS2 players would be right now, so I hope everything works out for you guys.
BRB while AbysseaWatch counts lights in the new 1080p AntiAliasing-Maxed Abyssea zones with the latest episode of Boardwalk Empire streaming over the FFXI window... yeah, it sucks playing on the PC.

I've found that If I'm playing on the ps2, it looks better on an older tv, because of the aspect ratio crap. and it not supporting hd output methods (which the ps2 has an available rgb output iirc, why the feature was never put in idk)

nothing that couldn't be change with a major version update to the ps3 and discontinue ps2 support, then the 360 would be the limitations...
well I say 2 days, when it's really an entire semester of work for 1 of the classes, I haven't done any of the work for, all my lab reports for my networking class, and to redo all of my math homework (the questions I got wrong anyway, not many) should take me about 2 days to do it, if I take my time.
Associates of Computer Science something or other, CC ftw.
i dont even remember waht hte max HD space was on the PS2. now the game itself requires X amount of space the harddrive itself has partishons in it for system information, game saves ect. now the download requires X amount of space. and then X amount of space to actually update itself. becasue even tho it may say it has X amount of space left on the HD dosnt mean it actually does. not to mention bad spots on a 10+ year old HD. i wish yall luck and ill keep an eye out for info to try and solve the problem. still no error reports on PS3 or 360
Well i figure it this way, if its a glitch players on PS2 and PS3 will experience it. Same with anything relating to the PS2 version of the game itself.
If its HD space it may only be PS2 users. However considering a few things. one is PS3 users have less space, unless the "Game Partition" is a dramatically expanding Image. The PS3s game partition is only 20gb when made.
Another thing is, Assuming The patched files are never deleted when updated. thus consuming more HD space then originally intended. One more thing could be the PS2s low ram, it only has like 64MB, the remaining space may be needed as swap space for the PS2 version, and thus wont allow some of the space to be used.
Edit: ment PS3 users not PS2 on HD size Game Partition thing
