FFXI Graphics Issue - White boxes!

Just purchased a new lappy with the 2gb Nvidia Geforce 435M graphics card and i7-840QM processor.
Via registry edit I have the background resolution oversampling(2056x2056 [or whatever is maximum] to 1920x1080).
Also have MIP Mapping enabled.
Have tried all variation of changes within FFXIconfig.
Issue happens when:
*Anytime I am at an Abys Maw entrance [White box around it, graphics slows]
*An avatar is out (see above, must be the outer glow around the pets?)
*When I have a mog bonanza statues in mog house!(when I remove them, no problems! I even have that model airship, fish tanks, multi-colored jeuno egg; so it isn't a moving object issue)
So, I get these white boxes with a purple border around them and lots of screen tears, controls continue to work as does sound, but performance just dies until I face away from object.
I can only think of a couple things:
*Issue with i7 processor's L1/L2 cache and FFXI utilizing all of it to render graphics
*Current (and most recent) Nvidia driver problem
*I have no problems with FFXIV and can run it at nearly maximum graphics settings
All these issues are present WITHOUT windower, any .dat mods - vanilla FFXI.
Any thoughts, suggestions, or general pities would be much obliged.

FFXI is just shitty coding. I can play Black Ops on my PC but the Glow effects lag my ***really bad on FFXI. as for the white boxes I'm not really sure.

I'm not entirely sure what the problem is, but it also happens with Telepoint crystals, Abyssea - Attohwa Chasm, looking behind waterfalls and your camera being really close to a WS animation.
I'm fairly certain its just like Skarwind said - faulty coding. Oversampling seems to cause real issues with things like Avatars, Maws and the like.

I had the issue before I did oversampling, actually; the oversampling has generally made the game-play more enjoyable!
If it's faulty coding, I may just have to live with it!

you need to change the background to double your res so 1920x1080 you need 3,840x2,160 for the oversampling.
o and if you havent yet there are more registry edits you can make to max out FFXI pretty.
made this pic years ago cause friends kept asking me why my game looked so much better then theirs in all the SS's i posted and was to lazy to wright it up over and over. so just set yours to these values for best look if you want.
as for your whitebox issue my guess is its an nvidia problem.Over the years ive had tones of odd little problems with FFXI and nvidia drivers. never had that 1 specificly but it a good place to start.
Either install the latest drievers or if you alrdy have them install an older 1. But do a clean install(DL driver sweeper then uninstall the old driver. after just boot into safe mode and run driver sweeper reboot and install your new driver.) dont just install over the old drivers cause that too can cause issues like this.

I got similar problem when i changed my graphic card (ATI) several month ago.
FPS was droping at telepoint, whitegate, nashmau, past cities and throne room (4 fps there).
It came from the drivers, i downgrade my drivers from 10.9 to 9.4 and now it's ok.
Old games, recent drivers, i think you should investigate this.

guess in the end issues come down to more then just 1 piece of hardware, all the old issue I had went away when i switched to ATI never had any trouble with 10.9 but id skip 10.11 if i where you it has issue with youtube it randomly crashs the drivers while watching 1080p video's.

On topic:
I think I am stuck as far as drivers go, until a new one is released. It seems the ones prior to the release I'm using don't even support the card!

white boxes are often a sign of overheat.
i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the gt 435m is equivalent to the GeForce GTX 260M which is 70% as good as a GTX9800
i will look up some diagrams of your laptop, and if my ADD doesnt kick in, i will try to post any findings
edit - what manufacturer and model is it?

Update:
After recent driver update for the Nvidia GT435m and clean installation of Windows on PC, I installed ONLY FFXI.
No dice to those of you also having this problem (thanks for PM'ing me by the way to let me know I'm not the only one!): Still white boxes and graphics lag. I even left the installation settings default and started POL - resulting in horrid resolution, but still had the white boxes.
To those of you with one of Dell's new XPS systems, that you bought just for FFXI, I would suggest returning it or finding a cheap refurbished machine to play on.

These threads will show you which dats to replace to change the avatars and confluxes. Unfortunetly I've yet to find a fenrir dat that doesn't have the glow (i currently just use an extra diabolos). I've yet to replace the maws but you can find their dats with the updated version of model viewer here
A word of warning tho if you plan to change the dats for the avatars. If you place a weird dat in them you can sometimes find they will crash your game. I found that out when i replaced diabolos with a chiego and I would crash whenever he did certain tp moves.

I have no problem with Confluxes or Avatars :(
Just Maws, Event Trees, HNM Statues, and certain monsters.
