So this thread is to help out with Macro creation, since the manual that came with the game is freakin useless, and its quiet different from FF11.

Well, my first question.... is there such thing as a /assist or /follow?

No /assist or /follow yet.

For follow its back to the automove / lock method unfortunately.

I think that enemy signs were conceived to try and replace /assist.

The way I'd imagine it would work would be tank/puller would tag a particular target with /markings 0 <t> and the assists would use /target <marking0>

Benefits of course being that if the tank dies you don't need a backup macro for the the 2nd assist, someone just takes over tagging the enemy with the agreed marking, all the assisting players macro is the same.

Only one draw back that I can see:

As far as I know, there is no /assist and I just target lock on someone to /follow.

Is there any macros to make targeting easier? As in switching to new targets, or targeting party members easier. I kinda miss <bt>, or maybe I am not doing it right.

Just reading up and it seems enemy signs only work on leve mobs. Another thing that could have been good, which just doesn't work in any useful way.

Since this stupid game don't have auto attack i have to macro PUG job as follows:

/ac "Heavy Strike" <t>
/ac "Heavy Strike" <t>
/ac "Heavy Strike" <t>
/ac "Concussive Blow" <t>
/ac "Heavy Strike" <t>
/ac "Heavy Strike" <t>
/ac "Heavy Strike" <t>
/ac "Second Wind" <me>
/ac "Heavy Strike" <t>
/ac "Heavy Strike" <t>

For CON (magik) more like:

/ac "Spirit Dart" <t>
/ac "Spirit Dart" <t>
/ac "Spirit Dart" <t>
/ac "Fire" <t>
/ac "Spirit Dart" <t>
/ac "Spirit Dart" <t>
/ac "Spirit Dart" <t>
/ac "Blizzard" <t>
/ac "Spirit Dart" <t>
/ac "Spirit Dart" <t>

Sadly i don't have /ac "Cure" insertnamehere i just have to target <t> in case of curaga.. just click area effect.
The few times I been in a party I can't get individual cures unless i target the party member, and I hate the Area effect feature becuz not all times I am healing, sometimes i Fire/thunder etc... then area effect hit all mobs and im dead. It's tideous to switch back and forth the <<AREA EFFECT>> icon between cures and elemental magik.

I wish there could be a macro for single and area effect spells.

You need to be looking at with camera and facing the mob. Seems to be around a 90 degree field of vision.

The exact procedure using /targetnpc in a party for me seems to be: spin the camera, find the target visually, move a little towards the target so I'm now facing the it, hit the targetnpc macro. It's like a crap version of F8 from xi. And there are times when it seems to fail completely or make bizarre selections.

It's nowhere near comparable to /assist when there are alot of mobs around anyway.

The data on who is targetting what must be sent to the client, otherwise you wouldn't get the head turn effect, so I'm sure one day they will bother to add something to copy someone elses target, but for me I prefer just straight tabbing even in a party of 10 because that's based on camera angle, not on camera+player angle.
