How many times has Already engaged bug killed you?
Yea, this is an annoying *** glitch that needs to be fixed immediatly...
0 times, I just disengage and run out of battle. it's really annoying though -.-
Lots of people are reporting that shortly after claiming a mob, it reports that it's claimed by another player. At which point you're unable to attack the mob, and it pwns you unless you run away.
This was a widespread alpha bug and it appears to be back, and just as prevalent. Odd how I didn't encounter it once in the Beta, though.
I've actually not encountered it in the release either.
I didn't encounter it during open beta. I think it was fixed, but it's definitely back in release.
A few friends are refusing to play at all until it's fixed. I've only bumped into it a few times so far. a bug during alpha that was fixed in beta but is back in the final release of the game? XD wow i'm glad i haven't bought 14 yet...
So far my experience with release has been getting killed three times due to the "someone else has claimed this" bug. Being unable to talk to people standing next to me because /tell says they're not online. Then getting disconnected and failing two guildleves. My wireless controller randomly stops responding a few times an hour until I restart the game, resulting in more deaths. And then the servers went down for maintenance and wiped all of my exp and gil back to starting state.
My roommate's game wouldn't even install because the CD was printed badly and failed the cyclic redundancy check. He had to use my copy. My RL friends have quit until the problems are fixed, so I'm a bit lonely. This is after the billing system wouldn't accept my credit card, and my beta character name wouldn't transfer due to region locking. Ah, right. And the client refuses to start half the time, locking up entirely at a black screen after the "SquareEnix" logo. It's been... less than swell. I'm taking deep breaths to avoid throwing things. This is going to be a great game, but it's doing everything it can to keep me from playing it at the moment. Sounds like people should hold off on playing for a few weeks till all these little bugs get fixed. I know that I want be starting till next year with the hope that most of the release bugs will be fixed by then.
Like you said, MMORPG's have to ace the release to get those critical "glowing reviews". ;_; Hope their emergency maintenance takes these bugs out quickly...

I took this screen last night because it drives me nuts. I just can't believe with such a well known issue in beta that this has still not been fixed yet.
That target is already engaged Lakshmi.Jaerik said: So far my experience with release has been getting killed three times due to the "someone else has claimed this" bug. Everything should be sorted by then:) Phoenix.Kojo said: Lakshmi.Jaerik said: So far my experience with release has been getting killed three times due to the "someone else has claimed this" bug. It hasn't happened to me yet weirdly enough. Only thing that I'm majorly disappointed with, is not being able to map the arrow keys to the camera.
You realise, if everyone started cancelling their subscriptions, SE would ***brix and hop right to fixing the problem.
It's free for everyone for the first 30 days lol.
I'm personally seeing these 30 days as an extended Beta where I don't lose my data.

Your character resets everytime you log off. same here. this is already more interesting that Final Fantasy Abyssea.
Nothing ticks off players more than server rollbacks. :/ Maybe it was because of some economic exploit discovered--most MMO's try to resist rollback unless it is something that detrimental to the game.
Or maybe it is the new SE definition of "replay value". :p (Ok...too soon to joke about it yet...sorry.) :p I've only ran into it on two mobs thus far, and neither I was close to death.
I don't think it was intended. I think the server crashed and the persistence mechanic failed, so when it came back up, it was at whatever its last "save point" was for me.
Oddly, the exact same thing happened to me the first day of beta, too. Except back then, my character wiped back to a broken state and wouldn't let me leave the starting area until I talked to the quest NPC, which was now permanently invisible. I had to make a new character. Thankfully that didn't happen this time. |
