Question About Being Locked Out Of PoL For Too Man

Topic: Question about being locked out of PoL for too many wrong password entered.



Hi!

Today I tried to log in to cancel my account ID. When I clicked ''Cancel account ID'' they asked me my Square-Enix password and one time password. I just wrote what I used to log in PoL 3 minutes earlier and it was not working anymore. After several try I got a message saying that I would not be able to try again for several minutes due to too many wrong password entered.

I want to know if it even happened to anyone... it been more than one hour... I do not call that ''several minutes''. I really do not want to pay those dumb *** for another month just because their service always sucked. I do not have time to call them tomorrow and next day they have their usual maintenance.

I guess if it comes to it I can call my credit card company and ask them to refuse any charges from Square / Playonline but I would prefer not to.

I am so tired of their bs... FFXIV will not work with Playonline, right? Or I think I'll just not play it lol...

It would only lock me out for 2-5mins when i did that.

Also remember you have 2 passwords, your POL password and your SE Account password. So if you changed 1, it might be causing you password errors.

Thanks for the reply, I guess waiting for the cool down on the password attempts is a waste of time. And I did not change any password.

Now I wonder if they can somehow reset your password or accidentally lock you out of your account when you get locked out for trying too many times...

Oh wow... I used the ''Forgot my password'' thing on the Square-Enix membership page. They did let me change my password since I knew the answer to my secret question. I go back to the login page, enter the new password and I get once again: ''Either the Square Enix ID or Square Enix password entered is incorrect.''.

This is reaching a high score on the HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE level...

Oh just noticed I'm now posting on my old server name ^^;

Make sure under log in settings that you have the PlayOnline password correctly set. If you have your account linked to a SE account it will never ask you this password outside of this menu.

Usually its not the same as your SE account password. If you don't know this password, then you have to contact SE.

I can't even log in on the Square Enix member page even though I have their e-mail telling my 100% good username and I just changed my password so I do know what I just entered...

So with their email + changing my password, I am 100% sure I have the right login name and the right password...

Seems like my problem is now with the Square Enix member thing... not with Playonline since I cannot log on the SE account website.

This is hell lol...

Do you have a security token? If so you have to use it to log into the SE account page also.

I sure did.

I kept trying same thing again and again and it ended up working... I'm in love with their service ^^.
