XIV Open beta August 31st
And nothing else right? nothing for the closed beta stuff at the bottom?
to be 100% sure that you get it right, look at the file that the updater is trying to download, then download and input that file. do this over and over until it works out
my install stops at 99.6% whats up with that?
Ok, now I've downloaded them all here like it says on the site: C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV Beta Version\downloads\ffxiv-beta
What now? I think its going now. It automatically did the first 2, picked them up from the folder above and installed them in 2 seconds. I'll update you you're forgetting to put them into the funky lettered folder.
I was worried the delay for open beta would be longer! It was nice recovery resolving it in a day :3.
I also can't wait for open beta to start lol, if anyone here was in the beta there were a lot of people from 'alpha' who clearly stated their dislike of the 'beta' testers. Now with open beta and that everyone can play I guess they will have to shoot themselves now that they aren't special anymore... I think I saw someone ask in a previous page why they couldn't sign into the beta forums anymore, that is because they wiped everyone's account and basically what you do is go to the site they emailed everyone with and go into your account management, select services, and register your service with FFXIV again. And that's it, just wait for your key with everyone else logging in at 7pm pst. What server are people choosing? if they have the same names that is. I was thinking about choosing Ultimecia again but IDK. I have to think quick! D: I'm going to play with 2 of my friends tonight :)! i already tried, krizz maybe you'll have better luck trying to make him understand how to do it ;_; sorry Ramuh.Krizz said: Leviathan.Jekyll said: Carbuncle.Kyofooyo said: you're forgetting to put them into the funky lettered folder. Krizz I clicked the link for the biggest file of the open beta, downloaded a bunch of stuff, now I get an installer bar that stalls at 99.6% any Idea where I'm failing?
put the files in the appropriate folder
you should have two file names bca2a8ae and d96437e6 copy the ones that you downloaded from the torrent and put them in the same exact named files that you already have from the client Leviathan.Jekyll said: Ramuh.Krizz said: Leviathan.Jekyll said: Carbuncle.Kyofooyo said: you're forgetting to put them into the funky lettered folder. ffxiv-beta > bca2a8ae > patch D2010.08.04.2000.patch D2010.08.27.2001.patch H2010.08.04.2000.patch ffxiv-beta > d96437e6 > patch D2010.08.10.2000.patch D2010.08.10.2001.patch D2010.08.12.2000.patch D2010.08.13.2000.patch D2010.08.14.2000.patch D2010.08.17.2000.patch D2010.08.21.2000.patch D2010.08.30.2000.patch D2010.08.31.2000.patch D2010.09.01.2000.patch D2010.09.01.2001.patch H2010.08.30.2000.patch Cerberus.Radaghast said: Krizz I clicked the link for the biggest file of the open beta, downloaded a bunch of stuff, now I get an installer bar that stalls at 99.6% any Idea where I'm failing? Torrents tend to slow down in the last little bit due to only needing a particular piece. If you're not connected to many people at 100%, then they don't have the piece you need. Make sure in your settings you have the max number of connections per torrent set pretty high. Shiva.Flionheart said: Not great... but meh ![]() So we get our beta codes from here( https://dev-na.ffxiv.com/) Correct?
I thought it was here http://entry.ffxiv.com/ not entirely sure though.
I fully admit I have no idea what I'm doing so I probalby look stupid to everyone.
So, I've been trying to get this done since yesterday. I've downloaded all of the torrents.
When I open the client, it's trying to download H2010.08.30.2000, which I've downloaded from utorrent and it's now currently sitting in the d96437e6 patch folder. Anytime I've pasted the torrents over into these folders, it's never asked me to overwrite anything. Anyone happen to know what I'm doing wrong? My msn is somedaystranger@live.com if someone wants to help me via that. Haha. Ok, so only the .patch files should be in the patch folder right? What do I do with the torrent files?
Radaghast, it will stay at 99.6% because there are 4 files...the 99.6% is the 4.7GB file being installed on your computer, it will then go to like 99.8%, install the next file, then 99.9%, install that one, then 100% and install the last file, then it should be fine.
I am running a 6-core processor and it took about 25 minutes to install everything. So what's everyone planning on being?
the ones in the metafile? you shouldn't touch those unless you're torrenting them from a place other than krizz's site. all you need to worry about is putting htose patch files in the right patch folder.
so just let it keep going?
Cerberus.Radaghast said: so just let it keep going? yes, if you look at the bottom bar, it will slowly increase. i thought mine was frozen too until i saw it go from .6 to .7% haha Carbuncle.Kyofooyo said: the ones in the metafile? you shouldn't touch those unless you're torrenting them from a place other than krizz's site. all you need to worry about is putting htose patch files in the right patch folder. I've got two computers I'm working on right now, so my posts will probably be scarce until I get it figure out. Apparently my mobo in one desktop can't handle the new processor. Gotta get the old one back in and update the bios. |
