A Good Combination Of Crafts? |

A good combination of crafts?
I currently have a 49 goldsmithing, and I'm trying to figure out if it would be more profitable for me to get that to 100 and than work on a sub craft, or get another craft to 100 and have goldsmithing as a sub craft? What kind of combinations are decently profitable? What kind of things can you make? Just looking for some crafting advice ^-^
Goldsmithing is expensive to level, you could probably level a different craft for much cheaper and get the same rewards in profit. Consumables offer steady profits, while HQ's is a more up and down game.
I think any lv100 craft can provide decent profits, which will provide the best is debatable. I'm lv99 Woodworking atm, between bolts and shihei I can restock my gil pool when it's low in a weekend of crafting or something. My suggestion when people ask is normally, level something you can use, I /nin and lot, so making my own shihei is awesome. Edit: I haven't touched syngery yet, so I'm not familiar with what crafts are used to make good items from that. Also, I think Goldsmithing 100 should offer you nice profits, didn't mean to make it sound like just cause it's expensive, it's worthless. Dear sir/madam:
Look over to the left. The recipes section of the site shows all recipes, costs, and profits/loss per synthesis. That is all. Odin.Oldive said: Dear sir/madam: Look over to the left. (Updated with picture) I'd opt for cooking and fishing. Cooking because it's cheap and easy to skill. If you're patient and look into it well, you can probably break even 1-100.
Fishing you can make a profit from the beginning. Food will always be in high demand and SE rarely introduces food better than what we've already got. After the update, most other crafts were basically crapped on while food synths sky rocketed ~ Don't really want to consider the 49 goldsmithing to be a waste =( Is there any profitable craft that would really use this as a sub crafter perhaps?
I never looked much into profit synths for other crafts, sorry ~
As someone who leveled alchemy...I'm hoping that when 14 comes around it takes aload of crafters away from 11.
That's deffinitely possible that they might! But counting on something that hasn't happened yet isn't really what I like doing =( I heard goldsmithers do make a lot of money if you get it to a hundred. What do they make? Couple of the cursed items and the beads used for staves?

I think anymore they use their Goldsmithing skill for things like: Vulcan's Ring or Vulcan's Earring Both synergy recipes, but need to have someone in your party with high goldsmithing to make them, so if you already have it the profits are all yours. Sure, I can make my own oils/powders, woohoo. It's still usually cheaper to buy the finished product that to synth them myself though. I've recently been lvling goldsmithing and smithing though so I can (hopefully) HQ bullets. If I had to lvl a craft all over again though, it would absolutely 100% be cooking. It's a craft where everything is a consumable, and with the lvl cap increases prices for food have been going way up. Same way with bullets to be honest, a lot people are using cheap ammo cause either 1) not a lot of people with cor (and some rngs) wants to spend tons of gil skilling up and leveling up or 2) they just can't get the good stuff so they have to take a step down. Consumables are going to be awesome especially in September when the level cap goes up again. For alchemist right now, I would concentrate on ammo, and if you just happen to have synergy up there to make dweomer or oberon bullets, you might have a hefty paycheck coming in the future.
woodworking 67
alchemy 81 rest on whatever you choose teir 3 on bolts and the ability to make bloody bolt heads ^^ oh and shihei... Forsakengriever said: That's deffinitely possible that they might! Couple of the cursed items and the beads used for staves? Don't count on cutting ores for beads. As more ppl realize the betterness of magian staffs the more elemental staffs will fall. I'm not entirely sure what else goldsmithers can make nowadays given that even cursed gear is falling by the wayside. Probably even moreso when SE brings out the Magian armor versions. I know that doesnt really help but unfortunately that's how things are nowadays until SE brings out some new recipes that is. That being said however the new recipes that ARE coming out seem to have synergy attached to them. Might wanna look into lvling that along with w/e craft u decide to get to 100. At this point in the game, goldsmithing is the last thing you should want to level to 100. Consumables are where most money will be made, reraise stuff, food, ninja tools, and some meds. If I were to level crafts again, I would definitely raise multiple crafts on multiple accounts that compliment each other.
One thing to keep in mind is what you will be crafting, is what crafters have been crafting for years and they have brought profit to the bare minimum. This is where multiple crafts come in, making small potential profit at multiple stages in a recipe results in a large kinetic profit. The betterness of Magian Stave's really? HQ stave's: * +15% increase in damage, and +30 Magic Accuracy for Element Magic Spells * -15% decrease in damage, and -30 Magic Accuracy for Element Magic Spells * -3 Avatar Perpetuation Cost for Avatar and Spirit of Element. * +3 Avatar Perpetuation Cost for Apposing Avatar and Spirit of Element. VS: Magian Stave's: * Elemental Affinity: Magic Acc+1 Magic Dmg+4 OR * Elemental Affinity: Magic Acc+4 Magic Dmg+1 Unless you are talking for SMN because then the Avatar perp cost is -2 less so yes those would be better for SMN but BLM, RDM, WHM and even RNG still use HQ stave's so saying that beads wont be used is false. It's not cheaper to make your own oils/powders/echoes than it is to synth, Alchemy doesn't suck etc etc. For every person out there on a forum who posts how "crafting is dead" and "I wish I didn't level X craft" there's a guy like me who's still quietly making millions on the same craft you hate. Honestly, people on forums complaining about how bad crafting is and how they can't make money are either: 1) Too lazy to check out the economy/buy low+sell high/find the best recipe to make at the time of crafting 2) A high level crafter who wants to discourage you from cutting into his profits by acting like his craft "sucks". 3) Commonly, someone who heard #2 say it and just assumes it to be the truth. So not to be a *** tease: I bought my Herald's Gaiters for 13 mil. I made this by: - Fishing in Nashmau and selling to the NPC (200k a day easy) - Fishing up Ebisu fish and bazaaring them in Selbina by the quest NPC (but you need Ebisu rod for this) ~400k in bursts, maybe once a week if a rich JP is trying to finish the quest. - Alchemy 103/Smithing 61 on various consumables. I can craft about 400k worth of stuff a day, but it takes me various amount of time to sell it all off - Alchemy Cursed gear, before the market dropped. But don't forget not only did cursed value drop, but so did the ingredients... so there's still money to be made. <3 Crafting. I'm currently working on Bonecraft on my main (to highlight fishing) and Synergy on both, for obvious reasons. Seriously guys, there's money to be made if you want to make it. I craft for about an hour a night, at least (some nights I don't even log in!) and the gil adds up. I promise. |
