Firmament (+1)/Acheron (Genbu's) Shield
If you can melee you should use a sword. Otherwise use vulcans + brave grip. The 10% crit bonus from brave will way beat anything else in that slot.

I've always done more with swd and shield... but lol taru vit/str
Personally I go Staff/Grip. Haven't tried Firmament+1 x2 while setting DW trait on BLU yet.

Is it 3.5%? Last time I really ever used cannonball was in 2005 on Cerb. I believe at the time testing showed brave grip to be 10% but no doubt its changed by now.
if you are sub thf you use staff and buy yoursef mythril plus 1 grip for the extra str and vit. If you are doing a build where you cant get behind a mob use a sword. If you use a staff and you miss sneak attack it will miss. Blue magic is based of the weapon in your main hands skill. Blu has 0 staff skill and it will whiff without sneak attack. Here is my set.
Why Mythril +1? Cannonball is basically the reason Brave Grip exists.

I've done more damage consistently with sword/shield than I did with Vulcan's/axe grip or Vulcan's/brave grip.
I prefer firmament +1 / acheron +1.

ended up doing blu/thf with dual wield spells
and two magian trial swords wit dex and magic acc
the dex ends up doing good for SA, more than the BRave grip could do if u use it
