I'd have to look to see what book I got thru but I know it was past The Shadow Rising. When I started reading Wheel of Time I had just finished LotR and Sword of Truth so maybe I was just fantasy'd out and maybe I should try them again.

Also, if you think that books 1 and 2 dragged on wait till you get to around book 8...
The payoff is worth it though. The 12th book (co-written by Brandon Sanderson) is the best book in the series so far, imho. He starts tying up loose plotlines from the word go. Jordan had a bad problem with dragging things on unnecessarily long, but thankfully Sanderson seems to be remedying that. Good thing too; it didn't seem like the series was ever going to end.

No, but my wife just told me she did like 2 days ago - commenting about naming our kids Perrin and Loial. She said Sanderson didn't reply to the post, but gave her a thumbs-up "Brandon Sanderson likes this", lol. If you recently saw a post about that, it was probably her.

That post about naming your kids made me think if turned into FFXI what jobs the characters from WOT would be. Obviously mat would be thf. I'd say perrin would actually be a BST. Lan a PLD no doubt. Moiraine a BLM. Thom SCH? Rand...Idk possibly DRK?(rand is kind of rough for me to put as 1 job). What does everyone else think?
WOT series is awesome. There are parts of all the books that are boring as can be but no books are better in their last like 200 pages then these books are! Not finished w/the series yet don't spoil the 12th book lol.

I think Thom would fit the BRD role a bit better. Could maybe see Min as SCH since her ability is sort of Libra-ish, but she can't channel so she doesn't fit any other aspect of the job.
I also see Lan as more of a WAR, but Galad would be PLD for sure.
