Pick your best
2. Ignore idiots 3. ??? 4. Profit 3 is probably carry the team. thing is, if i pick someone like caitlyn (normally do well on her in ranked) after we have a ranged AD I end up doing stuff like splitting CS with that person in lane and I really hate doing that -_-
hate how you have to build around other people because they refuse to play roles other than AP mid or Solotop

I mean a really good support and a really good jungler can make or break a game I feel... alistar, jana, soraka, sona I feel are the best of that trade. Figure if a good support does their job spot on (especially on warding) you pretty much get targeted and they waste their initiation precious moves on you to get rofl stomped by theirs I know that those roles change games lol
but a support can't kill someone in seconds like a carry can Asura.Lolserj said: » I know that those roles change games lol but a support can't kill someone in seconds like a carry can I didn't say they could :p just saying in general. Speaking of which... how many different champs must I play in order to get ranked. Also how many games? Maybe I'm a bad player, but I don't cater to other people in normal games. I don't know who I can and can't rely on yet, so choosing a role like support... I'd have to know who I was supporting and feel confident that I'm feeding the right person.
I'm not sure if there is a specific amount of champs needed to have played but i think 10 games is when you get your rank normally (I think)
Ask spence >.> I wouldn't bother playing ranked until you have at least 10 champs you're confident with. Even then, most of them tend to not work very well. The thing is that when you play new champs, you can see how they work better and defend against them if someone else plays them.
Personally I am confident with: Mordekaiser, malzahar, annie, fiddlesticks, fizz, ziggs, swain, morgana, akali, blitzcrank, cait, corki, fiora, gangplank, graves, jarvan, jax (old jax, havnt played him once since they removed dodge), Kassadin, kayle, kennen, Kog'maw, Master yi, Nidalee, nocturn, nunu, poppy, sion, soraka, twitch, vayne, warwick, xin zhao, and finally zilean. Most of those are people I have played at least 10 games with. I own like 90% of them. Then others I have played upward of 60+ games with and even more with some. A lot of those people don't work that great in ranked for varying reasons, mainly reliability. I'm also just around 1200 elo currently but I only started really playing ranked recently. I'm steadily working my way up the ladder! Anyway, the point is, play a bunch of different champs. Plenty of times, such as with graves, I had never played him but my first game with him I went something like 20/5/15. Or swain, my first game with him I went 20ish/2/?? (swain is kind of stupidly powerful, but I'm not sure how ridiculous he is now that they nerfed blue) Bismarck.Faelar said: » Just bought Sivir, how is she typically built? there was one sivir game where my first b consisted of me getting an IE and T2 boots :|
Asura.Lolserj said: » there was one sivir game where my first b consisted of me getting an IE and T2 boots :| Playing support in ranked is VERY frustrating. I was playing soraka once and my ad kept missing lasties and just not watching the map. We were doing okay'ish but my team didn't know how to use the map. I had at any given time over 30% of the map warded. We watched people walk right by us multiple times. I think they honestly disabled their map. The problem is that they wouldn't utilize the knowledge of where the opponent was. The entire map could be free of FoW and you could still loose if your team refuses to use the map.

I don't even like going 2 dorans. I can count on my 1 hand that I've ever played using 2 dorans and that was cause our lane was so evenly matched that it was like a deadlock and needed that extra doran blade for the gold I had at that time when I had to go back after me and a vayne harassed each other hard core. The really devastating swain build is: sorc boots (obviously), RoA, hourglass and negatron cloak+blue. Once swain has all of that, he can walk into a group of 5 and just keep it going. Personally I have 1v5'ed and came out with 3 kills and like .01 seconds away from a 4th.
I only say those items due to the fact most people give up after I walk into a group of 5 with my team anywhere near me and we ace them with a 0 loss. Swains ulti works through hourglass. The defense and HP make it take a pretty long time to drop swain and the longer you can sit there, the more dmg you get off. Then right before you die, pop hourglass, bam! 75% or so hp Full build though: dorans ring> catalyst> boots 1 (or 2 depending on how money works out) > RoA > chainmail or negatron cloak (depending on what the other team is doing best with but get both, unless you can get hourglass in a single buy) > hourglass > abysal scepter> deathcap > WoA. WoA is last because most of his sustain comes from his ulti anyway which already gives him spell vamp. More spell vamp is just iceing but you could switch up deathcap and WoA. Anoo, you should read back a few pages where we had a big discussion about early game items.

Either way 2-3 dorans is stupid unless you are really far behind... or lol you are panth.... god I hate him. I can think of like 2 others that can get 2 dorans items in general (like rings as well) and be fine with that early game.
I know a Twitch who can 1v5 people after he gets an Infinity Edge.

Dameshi and I came to the conclusion a few weeks back that on Fiora 3 Dorans blades works out to be something like this....
+ + = ![]() Exodia and you win the game. Or I can get 1.... lane sustain just fine on my own without having to get it.. save my 200some gold extra and get that extra item without having to go back 2 times which will get me another 200 gold in creeps (granted you don't have tele)
No matter how much spell vamp he gets, WoA can only do so much, especially when they pop an ignite on you. As for spirit visage, you end up healing plenty but you don't get the dmg output that you do with other resist items like hourglass and scepter. It's all about defense+damage. Which is why things like atmas and that new magic resist+dmg item made form hexdrinker are so popular.
Not saying WoA+spirit visage don't work, its swain, he does what he wants but a fizz is going to tear you a new one doing that. To be fair though, fizz devastates swain on multiple levels. ignite plus his dot's active=no real healing. With hourglass even if you don't get the healing you need, you will put out damage longer and be more likely to outlive that ignite. Also, 50 defense. |
