Ok so wtf happened here Why did Blu get such a crazy update...I hope we don't get nerfed.

Plenilune Embrace :(76) Restores target party member's HP and enhances attack and magic attack. Gnole

Acrid Stream:(77) Deals water damage to enemies within a fan-shaped area originating from the caster. Additional effect: Lowers target's magic defense. Clionid (abyssea)

Leafstorm:(77) Deals wind damage to enemies within area of effect. Treant

Cimicine Discharge:(78) Reduces the attack speed of enemies within range. Gnat

Regeneration:(78) Gradually restores HP. Sea Monk

Animating Wail:(79) Increases attack speed. Qutrub

Battery Charge:(79) Gradually restores MP. Magic Pot

Blazing Bound:(80) Deals fire damage to an enemy. Limule(abyssea)

Demoralizing Roar:(80) Weakens the attack of enemies within range. Wivre

I was Very impressed with this spell~
Plenilune Embrace:(I cured some one for 440 in melee gear)
Restores target party member's HP and enhances attack and magic attack.
Healing is more Potent in correlation with the Moon.
Heals 3 more HP for each point of MND.
Attack bonus is based on moon phase:
New Moon - Attack Boost and Magic Attack Boost of 2
Waxing Crescent - Attack Boost and Magic Attack Boost of 10

also they added hands that give +5 blu M skill and neck +4 Bm skill so that an extra +9 BMS(Mavi Scarf, Symbios Gloves) and a few high damage weapons(Tyrfing[49 dam] Almace[52] Badelaire[51])...scarey this is only lv80 stuff not to mention (hastaga or haste 2)/Refresh/regen now.

Edit:
Animating Wail: still speculation might be hastaga or haste 2

Doesn't sound -ga.

Very nice update though, can't wait to lvl some more and try out the rest of the spells. Only 76 atm.

Learned all but regeneration, animating wail, and battery charge.

From all I've read it's like Refueling. I will /cheer if they are wrong and it turns out to be AoE, but this is SE here, I'm not getting my hopes up.

we had some cool new toys : refresh, haste, dual wield

but i'm sad cause even if our blu magic skill increases our dmg cap didn't increase with it

vertical cleave and cannonball seems capped

i mean :

when i was 75 my Casa Vertical cleave did a regular 1800-2000ish dmg
now im 80 and it does a 1900-2100 ish dmg

im a bit disapointed i would have hope for so much more

I dinged LVL 80 last night.

Our damage seems the same but I can confirm that Animating is not AoE unless you Diffusion it. It is 15% haste. And when you do diffusion it only you yourself receive the animation everyone else just receives the effect of haste in the log.

We also do get double attack and dual wield job traits.

Plenilune Embrace is gorgeous. I have broken over 573 on a 100% full moon in my MND gear.

Blazing bond I am gonna do some testing with but I hear its like a magical version of Cannonball in where Magic Defense Bonus enhances it's damage. A new use for Saline Coat yay~

I am having like the biggest inner argument with myself over what to sub now. Yeah /RDM gives me fast cast and convert, but /THF is godly, /DRG with earring and Accuracy Bonus, /SAM for a 3 part SC would be sex too.

This update gave us so much more solo ability that it's insane. Lets list out some of the changes:

1) Self haste that's actually on par.

2) Self refresh that's on par or better than RDM casting it on you.

3) Amazing new sword WS.

3) DA trait.

4) DW trait. This is the most disappointing so far as it was promised to us as a native trait, then given to DNC. It's still a boost when not /NIN, but it will be eclipsed by a larger amount making /NIN better again, next level update.*

5) New powerful weapons.

6) Now arguably the best tank in the game thanks to the RDM nerf.

*To my knowledge no one has tested whether or not old spells give DW yet, would be nice to get confirmation on this.

You're never going to notice on ranges like that. Highly doubt they've capped so soon, Frenetic Rip should only just be capping and everything else is well above level 63.

In other words, eyeballing.

/THF: SA is not that much damage. If you're meleeing, planting hate shouldn't be an issue.
/SAM: epeen skillchains, nothing more
/NIN: Solo or anything where you need Utsusemi
/RDM: With Sanction/Sigil, Auto Refresh, Mirage/Morrigan's body, and Battery Charge, you're looking at 6/tic after removing Battery Charge's cost (or assuming Refresh). Assuming I Vert in enough extra MP to top my HP off afterwards, I have ~700 MP to burn every 10 minutes. 20 tics per minute for 10 minutes is 200 tics, 700/200=3.5 MP/tic. Voila, my spell damage just increased by nearly 60%. That's a ~30% global increase in damage. If you're in a Signet zone and Blood of the Vampyr isn't up/applicable, it's more in the realm of a 35% increase.
/WAR: If you're shitting MP, this might be worth looking at for the ~17% increase to melee damage and free DA trait. On the other hand, if you're shitting MP your spell:melee split will be high enough that the benefit won't be worthwhile anyway. Nevermind, back to /RDM!
/DRG: High haste it roughly matches /WAR; see my comment there. Alternatively, a long term fight where BLU is allowed to melee but must avoid capping hate at all costs. In this case, I'd ask if Regurgitation might be a better option; back to /RDM or /NIN

All of this...

...with the caveat of this. Still, we're much more desirable as a tank job than we were pre-update, and much more powerful than we were previously in solo/low-buff situations. Even when buffed, /RDM and the new traits make for an impressive boost.

With proper gear it should do more than Vorpal's average when fighting mobs that don't resist Darkness.

I personally have a pretty kickass MND/MAB build from my Magical Blue Magic setups.

Also, I'd like to point out tat the Blue Magic Skill pieces aren't that good and seems for the most part, they're not worth using compared to existing and other new gear.

Since it's magic the damage is consistent on non-resistant mobs. I keep ripping off 500 damage Sanguine blades, and it works well with my offhand antea. That's a bit better than my unbuffed Vorpal average and gives at least 250hp back and up to 500 depending on TP.

It's a magical WS with the property of returning HP based on the damage dealt, not a straight Drain WS. Thus, MAB works.

Okay, wtf am I doing wrong with my Sanguine Blade?

I've been using it in my typical magic hammer build, which is 59+52MND (including w/e spells I currently have set) and 18 MAB, and I'm lucky to break 200 damage, regardless of tp. How the hell are people reporting 500+?

I use:

Magus Keffiyeh +1
Morgana's/Ugga
Moldavite
Novio
Errant
Devotee's +1
Karka Ring
Omega/Aqua
Aslan Cape
Penitent's Rope
Mahatma Slops
Mahatma Pigaches

Set MAB trait.

+3MND from spells.

I only use on mobs that have no MDB trait, -magic damage taken, or dark resistant.

So no Colibri (RDMs), no Imps or Demons (-mdmg%), or Undead (dark resistant).

Epeen useless shot: 709 on Gargantua lol.

Well you're about 8MND ahead of me and 2 MAB behind, I played around with some lowby mobs and different gear builds and looking at the difference memento mori made. I think my issue was basically just mob selection. That's a little depressing though, it always seems to me like the mob you need to use something on the most, is the one that will resist it the hardest...
