This is how i update multiple PCs. its all the tmp2 files downloading during update (minus the last 3) extract and copy to the game dir with same structure and run game, it will see you already 'downloaded' the first 801(-3) files and get those.

worked here on 2 pcs and ill update my work pc tomorrow ;)

I did the manual download and install, then when i start POL to do update, it's still trying to download the 705 files, why is that?

Open the .rar file
drop
patch.sin.tmp2
patch.txt.tmp2

into the main FFXI folder

open ROM folder
drop 251-258 folders into FFXI/ROM

will only need to download 3/3 this way

Make sure that the files you download in the rar file end up in the same position as your installed game or the updater wont see them.

Easiest way is
stop update
extract the update.rar to desktop, you'll see it make a new Final Fantaxy XI folder there.
Copy that new folder into your game install Folder, (on my system thats c:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix on xp)
restart update(at this point i had issues connecting to pol update again :( but thats just SE 3rd time it worked)


it will complain its overwriting some files (the ones you have already downloaded so far)

Should work. its going to be the files are in wrong position.

I dropped the entire Folder and Overwrote FINAL FANTASY XI. Everything worked amazing, just had to run a file check. Thank you very much, I have 4 PC's to update in my house. I still can't get through to download the patch on my hubbys PC. This worked great.

I have to cancel my update just before the end (and hope it starts again when i go again!!!) so i try to stop it as near to end as possible :) which is why theres 3left otherwise it installs those files and they get dumped in with rest of dats

It should just filecheck, see you have them, realise 3 missing, and download those and install.

My download is fried or something even after manually installing I go to update and it always freezes at 15%.

Kinda hard to tell once they installed but give it a go. worst that will happen is it will have to download them again (I couldnt find these 3 files in my first update)

@Remoraforever : Im sorry i dont know why. It should skip right to end with the files. all can think of is to make sure they are in right place otherwise, keep trying ;;

This is my confirmation that the download worked and I didn't have to update any files afterwards (I had started the update manually prior to this so had the three that others are missing.).

I've added another source. I know it's a bit late and useless, but it took a while for the hosting to finish processing and whatnot.

As can be seen on the page, I'll be adding the FFXIV beta stuff as well. Maybe. Not sure how much it would benefit at this point.

Does this include all the stuff that's missing in Brax's rapidshare .rar? I'm going to be at school tomorrow, and going to take advantage of the fast internet there to do this.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, btw--you have no idea what sorts of hell I've been going through downloading each and every update before June 21st on dialup. -_-;

im waiting on my back up of everything in my ffxi folder to finish before i try anything. but now im thinking of suffering through the 8hr+ update :/...that keeps *** up on certain dats and what not...will see what happens though. 35 mins left on a 10GB backup >_>

i opened ROM in the winrar download folder
highlighted all folders inside dragged and dropped to FFXI/ROM folder

when asked to merge, clicked yes, when asked to remove and replace, clicked yes

repeat for
ROM2 >> FFXI/ROM2
ROM3 >> FFXI/ROM3
etc
etc

will have to download 5 files in game, took 10m
