Aion

I never took Aion to end-game, but the low-level stuff was a lot of fun (more so than FFXI.) Overall I just didn't feel as attached to Aion though. The mouse controls were absolutely perfect - I wish FF would adopt those...

About damn time, I always did say 'it would be a nice F2P game, but with their cash shop, *** paying for the game AND trying to keep up on certain things'

I pretty much quit when they made cash shop 'pets' mandatory for certain things without giving a non-cash shop version.

i might go back if they drastically reduce the xp/lvl, i got an asmodian templar to 36 (i think) then lost interest, no way i was gonna bother grinding 16mil xp for 1 level :\

Just been taken to my attention that this is going free to play...now I'm suddenly very interested!

For real!? That would get me in for sure. I played on a private server for a wee bit but didn't really feel like paying for it at the time. Any idea when that's happening?

I'm stoked to try this now that it will be F2P but i'm having a problem downloading the damn game, it's been sitting at 30% update for like 6 hours now x.x

My download is going veeery slow as well.

I closed out of the client and now it won't open up at all :|


Download stopped so I was going to try to relaunch it to maybe get it to start again (had to do that with tera)

The game was pretty fun up until bots populated 80% of the servers.

I'd go back if they'd rehire Tamat to run around w/o invincible on and make a fool of himself dying to mob aggro/random pk's from other faction people rifting while attempting to "test stuff". He also likes to fall out of the sky and randomly die in front of me on the abyssea fortress landing .___.

Seriously though for all the good this game has, the community support for the NA side has always been god aweful. Their solution to unbalanced PvE rare spawns for elyos vs asmos next to 0 rare spawns was to have GM's spawn watcher zapiel in asmos main towns. I don't wanna say it but even Tanaka is better at balance than these folk.

PvP in this game was really good, but the second PvP happens, the zerg appears, no matter what.

My update doesn't seem to be able to make it past 53%. It stopped downloading.

played a bit, earlier this morning, I think I got reminded why I ditched this game last time... lol

I never got far into Aion, but what I did was fairly enjoyable. I loved exploring the environments, at the very least.

Still haven't decided what class to play :|
Ranger is the one that attracts me the most but I already want to do that on gw!(I know different games, but you get my point)..how is chanter?

If you do ranger on GW be sure to look into builds between trapper and barrage(assuming we mean GW1 those were the 2 main builds)

Finally gave this a try, now that its f2p.

Decent graphics, stiffy animations, unspectacular combat, nothing really new imo. Very disappointed with the game, i'm glad i never spent any money on it.

on feb 27 they started a program with an extended free trial and free reactivation, and if you sign up before the 12th you get a free set of the lvl 50 daevonian gear

If anyone's still looking to try, Free to Play and 3.0 launch on April 11th.

Worth noting that 3.0 is completely changing the way the game plays and looks.

I got to the max stats you could have on a trial account before making another and exploring other jobs. It was pretty fun, I may go back and see 3.0.

My favorite part was flying. <_<; Lol. Regardless, was a nice break from XI.

I wouldn't even play EvE online. It's a great and stunning game to look at and play in the hisec regions and has a true player driven economy. There are no NMs to camp, any NPC interaction is fairly minimal. The staff keep the story moving in real time so you could potentially take a break for a bit and completely miss part of eve history.

However the money is in the low and nullsec regions. To get there, you typically have to give all of your worldly possessions to some jump carrier pilot (another player mind you) who may or may not simply take everything you just traded him. If that wasn't the worst part of it, there are pirates (players, again) who will hold your ship for ransom in a warp scrambler.

Also in nullsec space, there is so much worry about spying that people really won't trust you. ever. I've seen people take everything in a corp bank (many billions of isk) and simply walk away. Look up "Eve EIB heist" on google and you get an idea.

But to each their own. I'd reccomend getting into a corp early on that'll teach you the ropes and then get into a PVP corp.
