Greetings, everyone. FINAL FANTASY XI Producer and Director Yoji Fujito here. First off, I would like to thank all of you for your continued support of FFXI!

As previously mentioned on Tuesday, July 22, we suspended new adventurers from joining the Asura World due to server congestion from its increased player population. We understand that this is inconvenient for those of you that wish to reside in and explore the Asura World.

Therefore, this notification is to inform you about our plans for those players who already have a character on the Asura World and are unable to create additional alt characters there.

■ Implementation timing
The implementation of this measure will require changes to the server settings and various other adjustments, so we plan to introduce it during the September version update's maintenance period.

■ Implementation details and background
Essentially, we plan to increase the limit on the number of alt characters that can be created.

This is because even though we anticipated that players on the Asura World would create more alt characters once we made our announcement, the available character slots filled up much quicker than we expected. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

We plan to announce the exact timing for the September version update as well as the implementation of this measure at a later date. In addition, we are continuing to evaluate ways to help equalize the player population between Worlds, and will be sure to let you know as soon as anything has been officially decided.

September brings with it adjustments to the rewards for Besieged as well as new notorious monster locations as part of the second round of updates to Limbus.

We are also planning a variety of updates to make the game more accessible to both newcomers and returning adventurers alike, such as allowing the Goblin Stew 880 item that can be used in place of the items required for the inventory expansion quest "The Gobbiebag" to be obtained at any time, and also loosening the requirements needed to complete certain Adoulin missions, starting with "Life on the Frontier."

The following campaigns will commence on Friday, September 12, at 1:00 a.m. (PDT)

This time, we plan to split the campaign period and contents into two different installments!

A special campaign will be made available to FINAL FANTASY XIV players, offering them a discount on FINAL FANTASY XI's initial basic service fee.

This campaign is available to players who are currently playing FINAL FANTASY XIV and have yet to play FFXI, or have been away from the game.

In celebration of the second installment of Echoes of Vana'diel (San d'Oria: The Second Walk) being added to FINAL FANTASY XIV as part of Patch 7.3, FFXI will also be bringing back three previous events.

This time, we are bringing back the event previously known as Day of the Shadow Lord, and will be renaming it The Shadow Lord's Dominion.

As part of this event, equipment based on the Shadow Lord's storied weapons will be available as spoils for completing the ★Rank 5 Mission battlefield!



Furthermore, as an added bonus, the Curator Moogle will have some Shadow Lord-themed items making their return.

* Since you'll need to increase your level and complete missions in order to take on the ★Rank 5 Mission, we're offering it on three separate occasions (this one, as well as once in September and also October) so that as many adventurers as possible can enjoy the content.

Please note that there will be no changes to the spoils you can earn from the battlefield on these three occasions.
If it's hard for you to complete the mission during August, we hope you'll be able to take advantage of one of the other opportunities instead.

This ★Rank 5 Mission can be attempted by up to six players. Whether you're working together with your fellow linkshell members or taking advantage of this unique opportunity to team up with other adventurers, we hope that everyone is able to enjoy the content that we have prepared. To that end, we also plan to add new returning items to each iteration of the event that can be traded for with the Curator Moogle.
