They were all mentally unstable people.

Hmm. So they shouldn't have legally had the guns in the first place you say.

Now if I had a mentally unstable potentially aggressive child/teen/adult in my care. I would make sure they didn't have access to knives and guns in the house. If I had a child I would make sure the chemicals under the sink had a lock, and the electrical sockets were covered.

Sounds logical, imagine if the Newton shooters mom was a responsible gun owner..

All of those things are completely reasonable obviously, but taking away even assault rifles from people?
People in California are not allowed to posses assault rifles, you need to march down to this crime scene and make sure the shooters know the law!

They're saying US citizen. Although, they are not releasing the other 2 names that they "seem" to know, and are "insinuating" terrorism because of the names.

Terrorism is an odd thing for such a random place being hit. Is this building significant at all?

Also watched the actual chase.. they were driving like 35mph.

What does a law in California matter when they can just go over the border? There needs to be a uniform approach.

If my memory serves me well. The Virgina Tech shooter got his guns at a pawn shop?

The Columbine shootings were from a gun show, the Beltway shooters weren't legally allowed to own guns and obtained their guns from distributor that routinely had many guns "go missing", etc.

The mother from Newtown is a perfect example of why someone (not everyone in the country) should not have even had guns.

Every single instance has 1 thing in common. They broke the law.

I know! lets make more laws!

Your argument is false. Even if there is a law everywhere, people can still go buy them on the black market. You ever hear of alcohol abolition in the early 1900s? Same thing.

The suggestion of a bottom-up approach would be more believable if there wasn't such an overlap between pro-gun people and those would are also against things like universal healthcare, financial safety nets, increased minimum wage, and low-cost/free higher education.

Also, a problem can be addressed from multiple avenues. To suggest otherwise is a false dichotomy.

Great, so while you're making little progress with the issues that can be worked on now (thanks mostly to antagonistic rhetoric), you're burning bridges (through even more antagonistic rhetoric) that will make it harder to work on gun control issues later.

Keep up the good work, team. You're doing great!

“He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim.”

One of the whole points of terrorism is to make people think they aren't safe anywhere. You have to either go so big and flashy that it can't be ignored (WTC) or completely random, so people think they might be next.

Also, while we don't know the shooters' agenda, this was absolutely terrorism. Just remains to be seen what particular ideology was behind this one, is all.

Terrorism and a mass shooting are different things. That is way I think it is an odd target for terrorism but not a mass shooting.

If terrorist have the will and means to do this here, I would expect a bigger target and more casualty's.

False.

People were able to make alcohol by their own means and distribute it locally. People can not just go and make guns.

Mentally unstable people don't just mosey on down to their local black market to buy guns that would cost significantly more (ammo too) in order to go shoot places up.

The movie theater shooter from Colorado can't just walk over to his local shady warehouse and say "GUN PLEASE".

Should weapons become illegal there WILL be a black market to do just what you said.

And here is a little quote, just for you from someone very famous that applies to you:

"Those who give up their liberty for more security neither deserve liberty nor security."
-Ben Franklin

Be thankful that you get to retain yours even though you are not worthy.

Let's go with "the very vast majority of people can't make a gun from scratch"

At least not without a 3D printer

It is much easier to make your own liquor than it is to go build AKs in your garage.
Let's not pretend like people take you seriously either, lol.

I personally could care less how people "take me". Just pointing out how wrong you are and why.

It doesn't really matter how many do it. Just that it can be done, 400million firearms in the USA. Perhaps the conversation should be how to address the mentally ill in our country and not "guns are bad" because you will never take them.

That means you do care though.

Yeah I do care that you are wrong and think you are right.

Is there really much difference between mass shootings and terrorism?

IMO mass shootings are a reflection on the status of our country and the underlying problems nobody wants to talk about.

Terrorism is people wanting to do our country and its citizens harm.

Kind of a big difference.

Honestly we live in an age where it is really easy to make guns in your garage or even in your study. Just need a 3D printer + the internet.

You can buy Bullets w/o any kind of license so just buy those.

Presto, disposable unregistered firearm.

The reasons people turn to crime have to be worked on as well
Reminds me of my crazy solution.

Instead of focusing on banning things and medicating people, why not instead work towards changing society so that people don't feel that terrorizing people or going on a killing spree is any kind of solution. It's not a perfect solution, as no solution could be, but I think it could help a lot. It certainly can't make things worse.
