They're saying US citizen. Although, they are not releasing the other 2 names that they "seem" to know, and are "insinuating" terrorism because of the names.
Terrorism is an odd thing for such a random place being hit. Is this building significant at all?

The Columbine shootings were from a gun show, the Beltway shooters weren't legally allowed to own guns and obtained their guns from distributor that routinely had many guns "go missing", etc.
The mother from Newtown is a perfect example of why someone (not everyone in the country) should not have even had guns.

Your argument is false. Even if there is a law everywhere, people can still go buy them on the black market. You ever hear of alcohol abolition in the early 1900s? Same thing.

One of the whole points of terrorism is to make people think they aren't safe anywhere. You have to either go so big and flashy that it can't be ignored (WTC) or completely random, so people think they might be next.
Also, while we don't know the shooters' agenda, this was absolutely terrorism. Just remains to be seen what particular ideology was behind this one, is all.

Terrorism and a mass shooting are different things. That is way I think it is an odd target for terrorism but not a mass shooting.
If terrorist have the will and means to do this here, I would expect a bigger target and more casualty's.

It doesn't really matter how many do it. Just that it can be done, 400million firearms in the USA. Perhaps the conversation should be how to address the mentally ill in our country and not "guns are bad" because you will never take them.

The reasons people turn to crime have to be worked on as well
Instead of focusing on banning things and medicating people, why not instead work towards changing society so that people don't feel that terrorizing people or going on a killing spree is any kind of solution. It's not a perfect solution, as no solution could be, but I think it could help a lot. It certainly can't make things worse.
