More Accessible Stuff ^^ Doing Vagary to get 119 EMP is a Bummer on some ppl that just got back to the game after a long time and dont have the armor or resources to do it 100 job points to enter this super fun battle that rewards permanent attribute increase like hp strength dex etc
I would love to see a server consolidation and a party finder mechanic at least past November, if not any sooner. Problem is most SoA and recent content from other areas are very unforgiving unless you go with cookie cutter setups or well geared and skilled/well-informed players with versatile jobs (except mind numbingly boring stuff such as yorcia skirmish). If we still end up needing to do gear and job checks, it won't be any different than how groups are set up today and it will be nothing more than a glorified version of the party flag and "/sea inv <job>" system.
It would be a different story though if they introduce difficulty levels to those which miss them, such as Sinister Reign and give all the instanced events a reward system identical to that of Delve. In that case, random people would be able to spam something on an easier difficulty without much worry about gear, skill and lack of certain jobs, but that would also have a drawback for a game that won't be having any more original content, because everybody would soon own everything those events have to offer and the system would be short lived (unless they make it so that it would take forever for a single piece of equipment). This is a really terrrrrrrible idea for XI If anything it would have to be like the Party Finder in XIV where you can select all jobs and how many members you need. You can also lock certain jobs out and add a message that describes what you're doing (you can have a duty name + comment or leave it blank and then have a comment if it's not a specific duty, say LS recruitment)
That way you could set up a party of all WHMs if that's your thing and people can automatically join if they meet the requirements HTBs (or other arena fights) designed as job-specific solo challenges. I'd go with the HTB setup though, since VE/E/N/D/VD would allow for a a feet/hands/head/legs/body type progression for rewards. Require at least 100JP to be offered the KI perhaps.
Reward ideas: - Job-specific Empyrean 119 unlock, for an alternative to Vagary - "Final" JSE armor set - RoE for Capacity Point% - JSE accessories and/or weapons - Gift style bonus JA/spell/trait unlock (not saying do all of that necessarily, more that there's a lot they could offer from it) Something they could do with that, with the idea of it being kind of a "job completion" thing, is put latent or set effects for applicable REM and JSE weapons. With the idea being that, as you max out each job, it will reward you by making grinding JP on other jobs easier.
I think the game could use content that is explicitly designed for small groups, much like the old ENMs and BCs that had limits to 1 or 3 people. For those of you who never leveled RUN or GEO, the quest to unlock empyrean armor involves fighting a NM at your choice of level: 109, 125, or 135. The 135 fight requires you be on the job and completely solo, but rewards you with a unique title and a ton of materials for the upgrades. I don't think the GEO fight was done nearly as well as the RUN one, though; GEO's NM seems randomly weak to nukes where the RUN NM is very strong but beatable and punishes certain strategies. You also can rechallenge the fight weekly for more prizes. I would think similar fights for the other 20 jobs would be pretty cool.
It's nice that anyone can take on old content solo, but it would be amazing if there were events of substantial gain that were designed specifically to test your ability alone. Unban every character
