You keep using that word... I don't think it means what you think it means.

Greetings!

We understand that after looking at the adjustment for Eagle Eye Shot the impact wasn’t too great and that there are quite a few requests for the development team to take another look. With that said I’d like to explain a little bit about the reasoning around this adjustment.

• Objective of the current adjustment
To improve the usability more than currently and to create a groundwork.

• But why?
As shown in the road map released yesterday, two-hour abilities will be enhanced via merit points. With this in sight, we decided it would not be a good idea to touch certain things right now.

When it becomes possible to enhance two-hour abilities, we felt it more meaningful to make further adjustments if it is not as attractive at that time.

We apologize for making you wait and we appreciate your understanding.

[source]

God this reeks of the tier 2 merits on RDM. Was my first job up, and for those of you who did take the job seriously pre-abyssea, you are probably part of the army of us who were grossly offended by the tier 2 merits being spells that should have already been in our arsenal. Why did RDM have to merit those spells? All of our definable spells were accessible via subjob, outside of one, pre-75.

So now on RNG, all other jobs get adjustments to their 2hr abilities in updates if needed, or have solid 2hrs to begin with...but RNG will have to spend merits in order to "fix" theirs. This means while other jobs will get the boost of new 2hrs or true developments, we will have to self fix ours. Ridiculous.

Some of what people want is crazy. C'mon. Making EES like "Call Wyvern"? You know that ain't happenin. But a few things are realistic and easy fixes, some of which you did implement and we are happy about.

1. Make Eagle Eye Shot 100% accurate.
2. Make it ignore defense and damage type (if mob is strong to piercing/physical dmg, it doesn't matter, for example).
3. Make it generate zero enmity.

We're not asking for something crazy. I don't think anyone is asking to go machine gun mode and drop 30 ammo on some mob with 100% accuracy and every shot being a crit hit (if they are, they're an idiot).

Honestly.

And for the hope that SE is listening/following this thread (they openly admit they do follow threads on other forums beyond the official ones), lets try and stay on point.

I want that machine gun mode though...

EES does decentish dmg with at least some buffs (2-2.5k being highest in VW on lolT1AU/CP though arching/empyreal sometimes does 2k too lol), but it should definitely receive the 3 points Celebrindal has bolded. That would be fair and balanced imo.

An ability that makes critical hit rate boosted near 100% will be better IMO, since we have Dead Aim.

If this adjustment is a pre-emptive compensation of upcoming meritable 2hr, then I can only think the possible route of change is to increase EES multiplier by 1 per merit
5x(normal)-> 6x -> 7x -> 8x -> 9x -> 10x (max)

Hotsoups did 7.2k EES on Qilin.. Later he can do 14.4k after the merit. Sounds fair for a 2hr shot.

Probably because it would make bow useful. However, heavy shot would be pretty badass too if this were the case. Too bad the crit rate on heavy shot sucks (and the mod).

Jishnu's/bow is weak? o_O news to me. I assumed 3k average weapon skills when the horrible shout emp/relic melee's in my group are doing 1k or less was good.

3k+ for Jishnu's average is normal from a well-buffed RNG.
It's just Last Stand from Anni95/99 is pulling further atm. I haven't seen 6k+ Jishnu's yet, but I've gotten 5k+ Jishnu's myself from just a Harrier +2. Dead aim will make that number to 7k+

I was averaging 5.5k jishnu's on celaeno and got a 6k.

Yes, AVERAGE, also I was autoattacking celeano for 2k crits, he has really low defense and is very low level + piercing weak @_@

On pil, qilin, ocythoe, anything high level, I average 3k. Usually autoattack crit these NM's for ~1k with ODD up. Champion's drink is pretty much up almost all the time and increases your crit rate by a lot, not sure exact number.

edit:
[12:02:12]Kiaru uses Jishnu's Radiance.

[12:02:12]Celaeno takes 5890 points of damage.

Almost 6k actually :(

Champion's Drink supposedly only enhance your crit rate by 5%

Harpeia in general are squishy. I got higher CDC number on it compared to stuff like Qilin.
I got my 5k on Qilin.

Source on 5%? Has always seemed far greater than that for me, if it's only 5% then I have an average 10~15% crit rate that I'm getting from nowhere.

I don't think it's 5%, my crit rate is too high on high level mobs for that to be true @_@

Yeah. No way I'd be able to parse 40% Critical Hit Rate on VWNMs if it were only 5%.

I might be wrong on the 5%, but I have high confidence that I read it from Sylow.

IIRC I said It had to be substantial based on my crit rate with it up and my "base" crit rate vs. VWNMs.

I think it's more along the lines of 20-25%.
