I actually did something like this before. I kind of got burned out on it but I actually used altana viewer to rip battle animations/monsters and kept it first person. I believe I made South Sandy and West Ron.
If you do enough screen shots you can capture animations pretty well. I had it so an actor would jump on the screen, attack the monster, and jump back off it. It worked pretty well for first person mode IMO.
This is a project I kind of gave up on but FFXI also influenced it a bit. Beached Boat... Bats lol.
It's a beach though not so much a desert. Best of luck with your project. Just remember to stay consistent with chip set and character styles if possible.

I called it already! lol but i think the names will be customize-able, PC wise.
Just don't let SE know you're doing this... just remember what happened to Chrono Resurrection and Crimson Echoes.

You should use Tingle (or Tingletaru!) as a name if you still need one! It's my actual last name irl too :P I don't care who you use it for, since I have made too many characters and played too many jobs in the past and love everything! This looks awesome, keep up the great work!

Would love to see my name used for either a Galka Warrior, Blue mage or Puppetmaster (those 3 I play the most, for over 10 years now).
