helel: well actually no... 3rd atma is allways apoc.. but thats for me... i was asking if there was something better than VV and RR for heavy strike.... if i would have to choose a 3rd i would go with SS or str... but didnt saw the benefit of choosing SS over RR alone...
and for eikechi, yeah i see your point in spamming that... but well i was thinking more of a mix set up that allows a boost in cdc and this new spell..

and RR/SS/Apoc is still a good mix of DD + crit+ atma... i dont see the issue in dropping VV. yeah yeah 50 STR is nice and all, but +60% crit dmg is pretty f-in sick to a spell that will ALWAYS crit... just sayin.
the main problem with using RR/SS/Apoc on most crit hit jobs, is you lose the 20% crit RATE from GH so SS isn't quite as useful. ya it spikes nicely but you lose 20%...20% rate is a lot (and 50 agi for evade/SB bonus and Blade hi mod..but thats not even the point). So using GH balances out the crit WSs... now a spell that AUTO crits, doesn't have this issue.. +60% dmg in atma alone is enough to justify using it.

I'm having a hell of a time finding anything that actually survives CDC>Heavy strike when each is doing around 3~5k in abysea and 1.2~3k out of abyssea. Are you testing on an NM or something?

Yes, chukwa to ensure it survives. Also I suggest not using crit atmas for the test, makes mobs last longer than 1 spell. D:

Ah, I see. I'd offer to help test this out but I can only be on the test server when my LS isn't doing an event at the moment. If this does chain that is cool, if it has not skill chain properties it is reasonable considering I'm seeing this spell do upwards of 6k. A very powerful spell indeed.
Edit: Yes, that is why I tried it on some high def mobs outside of abyssea also, but ran into the same problem where the mobs HP didn't last through the two combined. Currently solo testing this since I only just got on the test server a few hours ago and don't have full support or my macros situated to accommodate tougher fights.

So far it doesn't seem like it actually does chain with CDC. I'm running into some snags though... sometimes the MB on SCs I've already 100% been able to replicate aren't showing up, with proper timing.
Definitely Fragmentation though:
(That heavy strike is with all regen atmas. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm)

it is for me. There are lots of instances where I don't melee to reduce tp feed. So I can afford to change weapons as much as I please.

anyone have any info on the ice spell that was in the .dat vid posted?
would the new doom spell make the magic acc swords somewhat useful now or would dark staff(guessing its a dark spell)be better?

idk there was alot in the dat mining from last update thats not on the test server, making me think they not giving us everthing they adding in the test. if they added in everything at once on the server and it all sucked or w/e theyd prolly loose some players.

Doesn't seem like Dark Orb has any secrets about it. Just another dark-element nuke to rotate with EG at first glance, should we ever feel the need to Cosmos it up.

kinda disappointing no phalanx but barrier tusk will help still, but any info on new/upgraded job traits? they said in the feedback they were planning on upgrading dual wield,counter, fast cast etc possibly

Unless they haven't implemented the changes yet, it's negligible, however the MP cost for Dark Orb hasn't been lowered yet, so whether or not the update has been applied to BLU yet has yet to be seen

these spells are always in your list but are faded out like being in the improper grimor on SCH until using the New ability i cant see if they offer stat boost but i doubt it.
