The campaign for Ossoff pretty much seems as loosely related to the actual guy as possible. Samuel L. Jackson's campaign ad for him was basically, "Hate Trump? Vote Democrat." One of his own slogans is "Make Trump furious!" If the media is using this as a microcosm of the national mood, it couldn't be more fitting. "We've got nobody good enough to campaign on his/her own merit, so you have no choice but to vote for this schlub because something something Donald Trump."

There is no message but Trump derangement syndrome.

Yeah, performing well not on their own merit but due to a boatload of money being dropped in areas Democrats don't care about except in an attempt to embarrass Trump. I guess those minor victories go a long way after getting beat in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania in the election that actually mattered.

Not well enough it would seem,

Rodney Stooksbury in 2016 got 120k votes. Ossoff got 92k after 8.3 million dollars in funding. I'm not sure what that translates into per vote he gained in this election vs what his predecessor got last time or how one would even calculate it, but i bet it's close to 500 bucks.

If that's the going price to flip a voter, the dems are gonna run out of money way before 2018.

Jesus Christ. This. Seriously. I'm as annoyed with liberals bitching and doing nothing right now as I am with Donald's circus o' rich white ***.

You can zing conservatives as many times as you want on social media and I'll laugh along with you, but at the end of the day that's not actually changing anything.

Let's be honest. The only reason Pennsylvania ever goes Dem is Philadelphia. It's why that bag of ***Rendell got two terms as governor, ffs. Because he managed to treat Philadelphia well even as he ***all over Democrat's other ideals and ultimately helped conservative/big money interests in Pennsylvania. Or, at least, helped them pay him.

I don't like Trump but this ***about "stopping" him is hilarious to me.

Yeah! That guy who America decided to have lead via the electoral system currently in place, flawed and unfair as it may seem, let's "stop" him!

If you hold a vote for stuff like that then turn around and declare take-backsies, what's the point in voting?

Just how big was the win? As it turns out, perhaps more impressive than one would conclude at first blush. Even after dumping $8.3 million into the race and having Republicans fracture their vote across eleven candidates, Democrats still couldn’t pull Ossoff across the finish line to avoid the runoff.

This cuts both ways.

It's why we have such a bipartisan shitshow these days.

Hardcore lefties need to accept we're not going to become a socialist utopia. Hardcore righties need to accept that we're not Leave It To Beaver-land anymore.

Then everyone needs to get on with their *** lives and realize no one cares if it doesn't effect them directly. I mean *really* cares. Obviously I care if kids are starving, but I don't care enough to pay money to feed them myself. Obviously no one wants to see police beat the ***out of someone innocent, but they don't care enough to step in and take the blows themselves.

Life is hard for everyone. Period. Some more than others. It's super shitty, but it's just the way it is. Play the hand you're dealt.

This is two elections now that libs have proclaimed illegitimate. This does not happen when the coin flips to the other side.

Hate to break it to you, but conservatives do not want a free-for-all-no-regulation-market. We learned our lesson back in 1911.

It's removing regulations and stupid laws that do nothing but punish businesses (like Dodd-Frank) just for being businesses that conservatives want to get rid of.

Not completely true. Majority of people, sure. Some people do care even if it doesn't effect them directly (cause they are intelligent enough to know that, by helping make the country a better place economically, they indirectly benefit from it).

The first one was due to repeated recounts.

Also, conservatives did spend 8 years trying to stop anything Obama did. My comment went both ways but in reality we need some people to be stubborn on both sides or else you end up completely ***.

Since I KNOW it will come up, I've seen a lot of Republicans complain about and be against Obamacare until they are benefitting from it, then they worry it'll be repealed.

People complain about how Republicans blocked ***Obama did, even I have done this. Maybe some stuff was blocked that shouldn't have been but imagine if they didn't block anything. Both side, BOTH SIDES have those occasional unhinged people. Imagine if Obama was given absolute power to do anything he wanted with no objection. I think things would have been much worse with one side feeling completely and totally oppressed with no say in how their country is ran.

Same ***is happening now just with the tables turned.

Obstructing obama through constitutional action is different than calling for investigations into the legitimacy of his presidency.

No one would expect the Dems to not be Dems, but judicial activism, fake Russian Collusion, and weaponizing the IC against trump is beyond the pale.

Presidential elections are not won by popular vote. Dems lost, get over it.

I don't recall a congressional investigation into Obamas birth certificate. Can you tell me which legislators headed those committees?

Two things:

1. It's not hard to win the popular vote at the expense of the electoral vote. It's just pointless.

2. Trump would be getting practically the same resistance no matter what. Losing the popular vote just gave the opposition more ridiculous things to put on signs.

While I like to blame everything on the GOP, the shitshow actually is bipartisan. Therefore leading to partisan gridlock.
