I've got a good one for you from the days of PS2 launch week. My friend and I were running around, first jobs, first time, no subs, no clue. We hit Palborough mines and we found something evil lurking in the shadows; there, on the very first floor, in a dark corner of the map, the king of terror itself:

Now, we thought it might have been some kind of rare NM pop at first, so we rolled in balls deep and had our *** handed back to us. Then, a grand thought occurred to us. If we had fallen for the Scorpion trap, perhaps the influx of other new players have no clue what it is either?
"Hey, guys! There's this sweet NM back there!"

"Yeah, but we can't kill it. Your group can take it though!"

Used a Recall instead of stoneskin by accident in Dynamis. As both were long *** spells I didn't notice until it was too late.

luckily you could still go back and reenter dynamis after that.
Oh it was in old dynamis, took a whole party with me...
It sucked.
yes, in old dyna days if you still had your original glass you could renter after warp, my LS would do this if some ppl showed up late and we needed them.

Our's specifically left a mule outside just in case. Those northlands runs were exceedingly long....
Had a WHM in Dynamis-Jeuno cast the wrong spell and Tele-Vahzl the entire tank party. Ppl are saying in party chat stop stop.... then whoosh the tank party disappears and we are left looking at the boss. The tanks are like wth why are we here???

Diaga was one macro row up from Sleepga in Dynamis back when it was the fun/stressful event, so instead of sleeping everything, I made sure they would never sleep.

Off the top of my head, my Linkshell trying to pop Steam Cleaner back in the day. I was on WHM and did not do sky much, and saw the slept detector. I didn't know that it was sitting there slept to pop Steam Cleaner. So... I decided to holy and one shot it. Which led to a lot of "..." in party chat.
