The guy could be unbelievably hilarious in so many schools of comedy... I remember seeing his standup for the first time expecting it to be something like his films and being shocked at the train of bad words flying out if his mouth. What a loss of a great entertainer.

It sucks to see the great actors, comedians, and artists passing on because they cannot be replaced.
He was a great comedian suitable for the whole family. He's definitely up there with Lucille Ball for family quality comedy.
I will say some of you saying this never saw his stand up (which was absolutely amazing).
That said, it doesn't matter. Clean or not, the world lost a premiere comedian today, and I think I'm speaking for all those whom he ever made laugh in saying it's a darker place without him; I only wish he had let someone help him out of the dark place he was in and not felt this was his only avenue.

For anyone who has not seen What Dreams May Come, please, do yourself a favor and watch it.
It makes the thought of Robin Williams and Suicide even more tragic then it absolutely needs to be :(
Out of all the actors/actresses that have died in the last couple years, this guy.. wow. He was always one of my favorites. Between his voice acting in some of my favorite stuff growing up, to watching his movies/comedy as I got older.
Suicide.. how awful for his family. Can't even begin to imagine what they're going through. :(

I'm actually not all that surprised about this, I'd heard he was critically depressed for about as long as I've known about the person, which is twenty plus years.
Still, he was one of my favorite actors and comedians. He could turn a lemon into Lemon pie at the very least. Death To Smoochy for example, is a pretty bad movie, but it comes alive when Robin Williams is on screen.

So saddened by this news. His movie's were a big part of my childhood, especially Aladdin, Jumanji and Mrs. Doubtfire. I will always remember his appearance on Whose Line Is It Anyway as well, it was one of the funnier things I had seen as a kid and it will forever put a smile on my face. We lost one of the great ones here, RIP.

Suicide isn't a choice, it's a symptom of the absolute worst mental disorder, depression. Robin Williams had everything, a wife, 3 kids, millions of adoring fans, a therapist, but none of that helps when your brain is trying to kill itself. Yeah, it sucks when people leave us in this way, but you have to understand it's a sickness.
