To clarify: the people that I see in public, or have dealt with in the past, not the people I chose to spend my time around.

@Enuyasha: I was referencing cashiers when I was talking about that, a life that I don't wish to return to, as it was barely tolerable when I did it, much less now. I mean I used one once in a blue moon when I had a massive headache and I didn't feel like thinking, but they were literally unable, and nobody should be allowed out of elementary school without being able to do simple math. (and sorry, but people shouldn't be allowed out of high school without being able to do Algebra or more...)
There's no excuse for this ***, and it's not just on the individual level. @the 7k healthcare thing: it's not affordable either way for the majority of people, it's ludicrous to assert as such and it only shows your disconnect king. Healthcare is a societal problem, and it should be free, like basic housing and basic food. But that's getting a little too on the edge for you, but if you must know, I don't agree with taxing to pay for it all, I prefer to supplement it with pure technology.
