What augments are needed on Moonshade Earring for the WS sets?

tp bonus and attack/accuracy (depending on which one you mostly lack)

HP+ gear seems to do better than percent gear, least for me it has.

Well, like anything % based, the more you have, the more effective it is. IE: 1% of 2000hp is 20, but 1% of 2500 is 25. You just look at what you already have and then compare the raw value vs the %.

I'm curious, does TP bonus effect spells while under CA or AL? Might be able to make a case for Macc augment as well.

No, it only affects WSs. Not spells under Chain Affinity.

Sorry, I mean the HP+/HP+% gear seems to do better than Cure Potency gear.

ah, ok

White wind formula is (MaxHP/7)*2, you can probably get a higher +HP for a given slot than cure potency, but it would depend on your other values.

Hume BLU/WAR, with a DD spell set equipped

Locket + Weatherspoon + Oretania + Desultor's
1522 (base) + 150 (merits) + 90 (spells) + 30 (trait) + 552 (gear) + 164 (% gear) = 2508HP

2508/7 = 358
358 * 2 = 716
716 * 1.22 = 873 HP healed

Locket + Weatherspoon + Trepidity + Osmium
1522 (base) + 150 (merits) + 90 (spells) + 30 (trait) + 717 (gear) + 175 (% gear) = 2684HP

2684/7 = 383
383 * 2 = 766
766 * 1.13 = 865 HP healed

Locket + Weatherspoon + Trepidity + Desultor's
1522 (base) + 150 (merits) + 90 (spells) + 30 (trait) + 632 (gear) + 169 (% gear) = 2593HP

2593/7 = 370
370 * 2 = 740
740 * 1.18 = 873 HP healed

When is it appropriate, tatically, to use up UL for our Terror spells. In what situation(s) is it ideal or at least beneficial? I've never heard of a use for them until today but I just did a Hennetiel delve where I was told I should've used Absolute Terror on Orobon after the mages were killed to buy time. Are there other instances where I should be using it so I don't disappoint another group?

Absolute Terror worked on Scorpion and Gnat in Ceizak, Orobon in Foret de Hennetiel if I remember right.

Yeah, but both of those zones can be rammed out by a couple of SAMs in 20 mins or less without it, so it's seeing less use now.

Thought this was interesting... maybe they are listening

Quote:
The “Learning Chance” category that will be added for Blue Mage in the August version update was designed with the idea that it would be advantageous for learning new spells that are added in the future, and specifically for spells that will be added for Unbridled Learning.

However, as we’ve been receiving a lot of feedback about this, we will be revamping this category.

In the September version update we’ll be changing this into a completely different effect. In the event that you put job points into this category during the August version update, they will all carry over into the new effect after the change in the September version update.

We’ll be announcing more details about the new effect once the plans have been finalized.

Wasn't this added in the July update?

No . .. it just said they're adding in august the learning chance category of job points. See here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/43549#_ga=1.238308361.808374072.1397885201

I meant announced with the July update, like, they had a month between when they announced it and got a lot of bad response, but will implement it anyway, then change it in a month.

Ah, I see, I wouldn't know, though you'd think they'd just boost the chance of learning spells instead of making it a job point category lol I would never waste points into "Learning chance" for something you only use whenever they add new spells.

I wonder if the augments are variable like WKR weapons. It looks like it could be a really cool looking model.

No rare tag on it, dual wield/situational augmented versions here we go.
Given all the nice swords out already, the augments need to be really compelling and not already covered by Uson/Bura , would be nice to see stuff like +refresh, +Blue magic skill as augments

+BLU skill would be nice, depending on how they implement the attack changes. I'd still like to see a sword with some unique attributes. Something like we got in the Abby era, Kamome or Auric Dagger style stuff would be awesome. Give me a sword with 5% dual wield and half decent stats or one with 10% crit damage and I'd have a reason to go after it. It's nice we're getting new models, but there's plenty of good swords about with virtually identical stats.

Would also love +blu spell duration augment so you could significantly extend duration on commonly used spells like cocoon, battery charge, etc.
Would make diffusion buffs much nicer and a worthy macro piece
