I am doing a statistics paper and decided to do it on FFXI and I need some help. Basically my thesis is that there are a disproportionate number of male players playing female characters as there are female players playing male characters.
So basically, if everyone could reply with your gender and the gender of your main character (Galkas count as male) that would be great. The larger the sample size the better the paper will be. If you don't want the information publicly disclosed you can send me a PM and the information will be kept confidential.

Admittedly there is a margin of error but there are with all surveys. I gave the option to PM me the answers, which could be done from an unverified unlinked account to be totally anonomus.

Scratch that, you can download a set of data from here. I noticed there's some FFXI respondants in there, but I didn't check if there was a substantial amount. But do read the page before downloading them and be sure to credit him if you use it for your work.

I'd be willing to bet that most research surveys are more accurate than what you're asking for here. Even if occasionally someone reports falsely, there's at least a facade of authority in those surveys. Granted, I don't think your professor is expecting something super accurate, but he/she will probably ask you for self criticism of the paper. There are a few flaws for you to consider, but I wish you the best of luck.
