I kind of wonder if there aren't a disproportionate number of men playing this game in relation to women playing it period. I know that would matter if you were doing a scientific study. (i.e. if the structure i'm interested in is larger in the mutant than in wildtype but the mutant is larger than the wildtype then the structure's size is not significant).

Well if you're looking at the percent of men who play as female character versus the percent of women who play as male character alone, you could get a number from a sample size of any kind. Further analysis might need other data, but strictly speaking the size of the female group will only affect the sample size, which may in turn affect whether the data is statistically significant or not, but not affect the percentage in a way that its scientifically invalid.

LOL I had to read that like 3 times to see what you mean. So not a stats person... I'll do my student's T test like every other good child but that doesn't mean I have to like it. D:
Simple. You want a percent? you get a percent. The fact that one group is larger than another has nothing to do with the validity of the information.

Edit: 3 years ago POL or SE releaased some info (not sure where ) that 75% of all mithra were actually played by guys.
