RX 480 turning out to be a joke. $260 for a card that barely outperforms a GTX 970 and has an extremely bad problem at the moment that can potentially melt your motherboard. The card draws 75w, all the way up to 100-200w, of power from your PCI-E slot. The maximum allowed rating to sell a card as a PCI-E branded card is 25-50w.

They can have their PCI-E branding revoked and other legal complications if this is not resolved. Not to mention anyone who buys one of these cards it at risk of physically melting their *** motherboard

It's great watching the STO market explode.


Plasmonic Leech is down to 15mil from 75mil.
Kemocite-Laced Weaponry is down to 22mil from 60mil.
Master Keys have shot up to 6.8mil each.

The only problem is that the Dilithium exchange has ***itself even further, now at 480dil per Zen. The exchange caps out at 500dil/zen.
This means that it's an incredibly shitty time to be a F2P player trying to get cash shop stuff. Great time to be a F2P player trying to get their hands on older lockbox equipment though.

not sure if they ever claimed it'd take on the 1070 but they did say 2 480s in crossfire would beat a 1080 which they did in one game that has a horrible shader bug for nvidia cards. the "unofficial" word was it would match a 980-980ti which has proven untrue.

as it stands now getting anything short of a 1070 is robbing yourself though if you're at 1440p+. 1080p get a seconhand 980 or 980ti for like $200.

my bad. i double checked what i had read. they said it would compete with 1070 or 1080 with vr capability, not all around. i remembered it a little off.
