No. Seriously, Airbag. If you're going to troll people defend your point of equating any one particular person's post to something you heard on CNN. You can do that to anyone, you chose me. Why should ANYONE take anything YOU say seriously if all you're going to say to discredit them is "lol you heard that on <insert network television name here>".

The fact that I used Fox as the subject of my point in no way discredits my impartiality to the point of the post you quoted. The bill passed, everyone knows Fox has been spewing propaganda. Not that others haven't, but they're the most easy to equate "America is becoming a socialized state" to in a way that everyone will understand.

If anybody wanted to hear "This is socializing America" vs "This is saving America" they could turn on their television. So bite me for asking that people add a little of their own thought and not just copy & paste transcripts from Glenn Beck or Keith Olbermann's shows. All I was trying to do was make this a more serious discussion.

I agree with much of the Republican philosophy which says that government must only step in when citizens can't effectively do something collectively. Something like this would be our armed forces.

The recent banking legislation is a prime example. You know you over draft 5 cents on 1 transaction and then make a 7 dollar transaction and you know owe the bank 67$ as a result of two 33.50$ charges?! Now your bank has to ask you when you start the account if you want to be subjected to this.

Now when I get sick I won't have to worry about going behind on my mortgage or ruining my credit to get treatment.

As a complete and total outsider to the discussion (and I don't care), didn't the healthcare system in America totally suck balls? Surely any change (I have no idea what the change is) will be for better?

No, the health care didn't suck. It does have major issues as anyone would admit, but this is only going to screw us even more.

Let's see, we are already facing a massive shortage in primary care physicians, let's add 30 million more people to an ever decreasing number of doctors and see how this works out.

So *** sick of the government. Both parties.

It's better to have 50m people without insurance getting health-care then leaving 50m people without it.

And with increased demand for healthcare workers, you are sure as hell gonna see increased salaries and benefits to get people to get into healthcare

Take it as "arrogant asshat American" if you want, but most of the citizens here consider the U.S. to be better than any other country on this planet, and any steps in becoming like anyone else is a step down.

I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of my superior healthcare system.

And I expected this. If the bill hadn't passed Obama and the democrats would have suffered a huge blow and lost a lot of credibility.

Youre reacting quite strongly to my accusation, but lets keep this scholarly

I guess youre in favor of more proactive and expansive government, but some of us are not and being subjugated and raped of what we have is NOT what we want from our government but what other way is there to pay for this? taxing the rich because they make more money is a really fair idea, putting MOST of the burden on SOME of the citizens of a country where everyone is equal is a disgusting perversion of what this country was founded on and I wish I could say if you dont like that *** OFF but it seems everyone has forgotten what the United States of America was founded on.

The times change and so should policies but not in the manner that they have, owing billions and billions of deflating dollars to a country profiting off a war we are entirely financing is an awesome situation in every aspect. Dunno why we make it our business to make everyone elses' ours, but its leading to the downfall of the prosperity and standing this country has enjoyed.. theres a lot of *** up stuff about the situation we're in but spending more and more money we dont have is exacerbating the problem 10fold unless we just dont plan on every paying off these debts and just going to war with china or something- Somethings gotta give :) and I hope its not the entire foundation of this country!

Only the moochers and /or bleeding hearts think it's better. For those of us footing other peoples bills... not as much

Most interesting! I'm eager to see how this bill will change things in the years to come, as well as how it will change as well. It's not perfect, but at least we're seeing something, anything finally change. Whether or not it is for good or for bad, well, we're gonna find out in due time. With this out of the way, or at least passed, I wonder what the next major issue we're going to see is? Any guesses?

my guess is, I serious hope their next large concern is the tax. its a killr imo. I understand for the Tax hike where i live and reasons behind it but there has to be other means

And you think that the health care bill which will require massive funding from tax will help this issue in any way shape or form?

Our nation just signed up to take on an even more massive deficit and you hope your taxes will decrease?

I don't really wish to debate it but this is change i don't believe in, I didn't vote for this.

I pay for my insurance, always have... why should i pay for anyone else and why if i choose not to carry coverage at all, should i be taxed at a higher %?

Tis a load of crap.

To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical. -- Thomas Jefferson

You say that like it's a bad thing. And no I'm not being sarcastic.

You toss out people who can't pay the rent out on the street.

You toss people out of resturaunts who can't pay for food.

Both of these are vital to live too. Why? Because that's how the goddamn world works. You want something you *** earn it. You have rights to freedoms and liberties and the ablity to get almost anything. You don't have the right to anything you want just because you want it.

YAY! Now we get to spend money we don't have on Health Insurance or pay fines with money we don't have (and before anyone says it, I don't pay for the game, a friend does, besides 13+ dollars doesn't even come close to what Health Insurance will..)

I don't go to hospitals or doctors, I've had some very serious injuries over the years and didn't go, for one I'm terrified of needles because of something that happened to me when I was only 5 (cat attacked me, was bleeding to death on the way to the hospital, couldn't get anesthesia because there was no time AND I would have bled it all out to begin with, had to get stitched up with like 100 stitches) and pretty much my entire life we've been too poor to afford going to the doctor every time I got hurt.

I don't see how anyone could have cast an educated vote for any of this change, you take an already struggling economy and increase the deficit by like a trillion dollars for "changes"

Somehow you do this while claiming it will only effect the taxes of wealthy. yeah BS lol. Obama is going after my change.

The trillion dollars must come from somewhere, it has to materialize... government will print more and more cash, our dollar worldwide will become worth ***.

America becomes even more poor. Communists become the superpower.

And bingo everyone wins.

Speaking as a health professional myself, there's a huge difference between kicking someone out of a hospital who is sick and needs care and kicking someone out cause they can't pay rent.

You don't know when you might get sick or might get hurt and require medical treatment. People shouldn't have to pay for insurance for medical treatment, then have their insurance companies deny the treatment

Yeah that's why you have insurance. So you pay a little all the time for when you do need the care. It's the whole point of it.

The problem isn't people with insurance. I'm mostly for giving insured people care (always exceptions. I mean you can still leech even paying insurance the way it's set up). It's giving all those unisured people.

Wow, I am amazed you people dont even know what is in the bill or that we will start paying for it now, but wont be able to use get it till 2014.

The bill is 2000 pages long....

The government will tell doctors how much they are going to be paid. If a doctor has any specialties, he/she will be paid the same as the one without any.

Know what else was added to the bill. Only the government is able to issue student loans. No more private loans for Education.

If you refuse to pay for this, there will be penalties waiting for you when you file taxes. It will be $750 the first year and will keep going up.

You are forced to pay, even if you dont use it or dont want it.

Well, u know the principle of working for what you gain died in the US when america voted in obama right?

His campaign promised some of the laziest moochers and welfare bums in america exactly what they wanted, equal treatment to hard working or well educated citizens.

And they voted him in. The american dream died that day, this is just a part of the aftermath.

Me, i'm going to exploit anything i can now, sign me up for food stamps.

I'm getting kind of tired of hearing the same typical rhetoric about the Canadian Health Care system being amazing, because depending on your perspective, it's pretty far from the ideal system; it's a system similar to welfare in the fact that it best serves the leeches of society and funnels more money from hardworking Canadians into the pockets of corrupt politicians.

It's a shame the government turns pretty much everything they create into a scam--toss the citizens a few bones, and they're all for it.
