Seacom, why is it there?
Simply put, I put as my /seacom {Merit Points} {Party} {Can I have it?} {Thank you}
Simple to understand, no? First tell to me was a level sync invite to Western Altepa Desert, jeez... Don't reply? I get 20+ blind invites a day as brd/nin. Even brd/whm. Pretty simple to ignore people. You are obviously a single man.
add {Level Sync} {no, thanks}
insert face palm pic here Otherwise it appears you want xp/merit points and those that can use you will try..... Level Stink 33+ yes please!
>>Hello, XP Qufim Island Do you need it? We have a PL! <<Cant you read the /seacom? >>We have a PL! <</sigh.... Daily logs... I put items with prices, plus ◀Upper Jeuno▶ I-8 ◀Bazaar▶, then parked there.
Received nothing but Level Sync party requests all day on PLD, of course. Whenever seeking merit parties on BRD, I have "◀Level Sync▶ ◀No thanks.▶" and "New party only, please." It goes without saying that most of the non-JP invites would be for replacement slot--sometimes replacement invites for Level Sync parties. Yeah, the JP players will gamely read my /seacom, including the non-auto-translated portion--and respect it, while the NA players will roundly ignore the entire thing, English, Auto-Translate, Martian, and all. Maybe I should write /seacom in Japanese instead. lol. I absolutely hate people that don't check your /seacom before they send you dumb /tells! And then when you ask them to check it, they get all offended! =_=

And then when you ask them to check it, they get all offended! =_= You respond to people who don't read? In writing? Why?... I always thought /seacom was for writing funny storys to ppl who read it. There's someone named Haiku on my server, they used to have a short poem in their seacom most of the time. I thought that was pretty funny.
Incase anyone dont know what Haiku is Ifrit.Itazura said: Fenrir.Tokii said: I absolutely hate people that don't check your /seacom before they send you dumb /tells! I know I shouldn't, but maybe if you tell them enough, they'll get the hint..? Maybe...? :< ugh added {Level Sync} {No thanks} as suggested and the next tell was a level sync invite.
Annoying much lol
Gotta <3 it when you got Dyna in /seacom and flag up INSIDE dynamis zone and still get invites.. Happerned last time I played BRD in Dyna-Tav

It all comes down to people just being HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE. We've had BRDs get pt invites, while already in a party, in dynamis. It's just amazing how dumb/desperate people can be.
I myself got a pt invite on PLD while tanking a jailer in sea once lol Siren.Pantmonkey

But, there are times when I like to go old school. I have enough 75's and dont care to TP burn anymore. Sometimes I like to just gear up a party with some friends and enjoy XPing.. I have that happen all the time >.> it's just annoying.
I was going to ask, why bother with a /seacom like "{Merit Points} {Party} {Can I have it?} {Thank you}" when that does little to say much.
Though I suppose it would help to avoid situations like the one you were in >.> But even "{Merit Points} {Party} {Can I have it?} {Thank you}" is, imo, too plain. I get irritated when I see people w/ the same generic /seacom. Tell me something more about yourself that would make me want to invite you over someone else. Do you have particularly good gear? Are you World:O? Got other jobs you're willing to merit? JP/EU/NA ok? Etc. Of course there's no chance I would invite someone without a /seacom over someone without them (unless I knew them, and then I would chew them out for being lazy and stupid). Putting up {merit} {points} {party} means you want merits, and you'll take an invite.
It does not say you won't sync, it just says you want merit points.

Then I forget to take it down when Im out soloing somewhere in an area that can only hold 1 soloer. then the other soloer comes around and gets mad at me for a wasted trip :( Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but back when I used to play it was considered standard to list things like available subjobs, air/sea/etc access, and other information in your seacom.
That way people didn't need to ask you all that crap before sending an invite. Lakshmi.Jaerik said: Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but back when I used to play it was considered standard to list things like available subjobs, air/sea/etc access, and other information in your seacom. People still do that, and they add staging points, amount of haste in gear, which jobs are available (and which is merited), etc. Well, JP players still do that, and a few oddball NAs like me. Heck, I got Moon access just so I can put down <Area>◯ in my /seacom. I remember when we put up exactly what areas/staging points/food/dex+,acc+,str+ etc/subs/jobs and weapons we had and it was like a contest over who had the most informative seacom. All this for a (by today's standards) shitty pt in Bibiki/Valley of Sorrows/Boyahda or other 60-70 areas.
It might be because I'm new to brd, but I always answer every /tell with courtesy, if they start getting bitchy then I'll ask them how the brd-les party is going about 30 mins later.
My normal /seacom is {Merit Points}{Yes please!} {Support job}{White Mage}{Ninja} {fisherman}O {Mamool}{May}{Bee} |
