Seacom, Why Is It There?

For giggles i get on brd , lfp , seacom say's exp party no thanks . and in come the invites.


but no seriously most people ive found dont read sea com
specificly here lately i was lvl'ing my blm and was the only mage in the party. seacom said main heal no thanks. guess how that party went.

Most people don't read seacomms because they just do a search to get a list of names to /tell them.

Your seacom was ambiguous. Your fault. If you said {Level Sync} {No, Thanks} then you'd be justified.

Sorry to Bump this... just something funny from last night.

So I Log on for our sky event.
I swap to COR... and the second I do I get:
"Merit party! Thickets! do you need it?"

Now granted I JUST swapped. didn't have a Seacom...
So I politely said "No thanks"

I proceeded to set my Seacom as I usually do for Events"
~ SKY EVENT ~
{Limit Points} {No thanks}

about 10 mins later, Once I zoned to Sky, I got the SAME person sending me the exact same tell looking for party...
I responded with "/seacom, {you can have this!}

Changed the Seacom to:
~SKY EVENT~ Check ZONE!
{Fighting right Now!}

They send me a tell 5 mins later...
"We have SAMx2, MNK, BRD, and RDM! We're at <pos> in Thickets!"

I sent them my final reply:
"{All right!} I'm OMW!!!"

changed my Seacom to:
~SKY EVENT~ you idiot...
I DON'T WANT TO F*&% MERIT!

Didn't hear back from them.

I get pt invites with seacoms saying I'm asleep and I'm bazaaring whatever not even seeking.

This is why I am /anon 99.9999~ of the time -_-

True... but people being anon at an event sucks when tossing alliances together while looking at the LS List.

I don't really do events anymore thanks to my workload, why I get away with it. Only time I am not is if I get suckered into a sync pt via an LS mate...

I search all dynamis zones and send /tells to people who have flagged up. I usually apologize, say I'm only joking, and wish them good luck, though.

Lol yeah. At first that worked and then people started looking me up (gogo lvling rdm way back in the day when they were hard to find). So I had to start going invisible status or I'd still get invites from people on flist as soon as I popped. That mostly worked.

I like those times I'm not anon and people will ask for a raise or something when I'm on blm/rdm. Or once when I was on thf/blm lol

Your all doing it wrong. If you dont want to level sync, you need to put {Level Sync} {Can I Have It?} < 19 {Please Check It}

Doesn't always work. There are people that will try all they can to get a party together, though some are more nicer about it than others.

retired now, but my seacom on Cor/Rng was usually this.

{Merit points} {party} {please invite me}
{Fisherman}: No {Level Sync}: No
/mage: Go *** yourself.

I sometimes put random words in my Searchcom, but since most people can't read, I guess its just a joke to myself
