The Hidden Talent Of Cerb

Question to all you forum lurkers from Cerb. I know we've got quite a bit of talent on Cerb as far as players go but none of us really come together all at the same time to abuse this.

There are some good players on the server certainly, some of the best still palying the game IMO (Not bragging but *cough*) but I'm looking for more!

Who are some of your guys top picks for undiscovered talent? Perhaps they only play in small groups or arn't on much. Always seem to do the right thing at the right time and are extremely clutch? Who know their jobs without question and can adapt to any situation? When the fight gets tough you can count on them to make the right call, do the right move, cast the right spell to swing the flow of battle into your favor?

These players are rare thats why I ask. I don't play much with random groups outside my linkshell so I don't know much of the server as much as I used too.

I know some names from my LS who arn't on much but don't know any outside the ls really.

Goes without saying, Talent for sure but of what that is up for debate.

Is Garbage still sitting in Upper Jeuno forever selling random baked goods? If so, I nominate him/her.

In that case I must throw my hat behind Wigglesworth, only sells random crap but while under a worm costume.

Tanking IT weapons on WAR/MNK in 2005 required talent, pressing ws macro every 10 seconds =/= talent.

Forever the problem with nostalgia goggles, that didn't require talent either. This game has always been about preparation over actual player involvement. Provoking and having gear to do damage to hold hate, and knowing to click off Berserk in critical times is also not talent. Nor was bringing your SMN+BLM army to Tiamat/Vrtra/BahamutV2(pre-zerg strategy).

But if tanking in a level 75 EXP party was the highlight of your career..well....

I would say being one of the first to kill AV and PW was.
The level of game understanding and skill required in a 75 pt back then > anything required today.

Yes.

Inspiring comical conversation amongst people who troll forums all day with a topic such as this is quite entertaining. I should have broadened the search to all servers, perhaps another day.

Its always good to know who people think are good but the vocal minority opinions are extremely biased as expecting a genuine answer is absurd so sarcastic ofc.

Doesn't exist. Jps were the only ones able to clear legion beside that one linkshell that transferred over from another server to sell marrows. Every linkshell I joined doing supposed endgame was filled with the exact same ***players who were unable to work as a group or even lock buffs before a nm was popped.

Had to quit because people were requesting accuracy corsair rolls from me while going into delve with 85 empys and keeping my 99 ukon out. They would tp in next to 0 accuracy and eat meat mithkabobs wondering why we wiped and another group could just 'zerg it'. Oh ***and all the corsairs on Cerberus are lazy as ***. Not one used ranged attacks or had a stp set. They just sat there and waited to either roll or do a fire shot. Im sure other servers were just as bad but the general groups on Cerb were terrible.

I remember doing Morta on corsair and Taint (apoc) linked the parse. He was doing like 39% of the damage against 99 Rags tping in calemecac trousers doing less then my 85 Arma. Infuriating barely begins to describe this server.

I nominate Ephexis for being hidden talent. Mainly becaues every person who talked ***about him were usually absolute trash and should be kicked from groups in the first place. That had to be the best part of the server. He would outparse me on Ig-Alima atleast half the time aswell not saying that Ig was current or hard content worth mentioning but atleast he could hit a few buttons correctly which is far more then most of the dam server.

The talent must have been well hidden.

Being able to piss that many people off was nit hidden at all.

Think I rolled my eyes so hard they almost fell out.

Anyone not on my blacklist is probably a good place to start Midgitis.

Tabooo - Hands down the BEST PLAYER I have ever met. And yes I rate him as better than me.

Flaminglegion (not an unknown player) Good generally, and defo can adapt to the situation.

Tombula - when he actually plays.

Dilios - Was good, took direction well and could deal with the random ***the game threw out at him. Would never try and do something he had never done without reading about it and asking a few questions to those who had done it.

Mariketa - great WHM and knew how to prioritize spells and would favour the heaviest DPS in pt for debuffs for the smoothest transition (even at the expense of her friends).

Dariaaa - No longer plays but Dear god, could she play.

Dekar - Good BRD.

Hikuzo - one of the best PLD's I ever met.

Rielly and Riellyx (new account) - The best PLD and DRK I played with (not dps wise but strategist wise).

Lets not make this into a player warning thread cos it will get deleted... **** had good gear, you couldn't deny that.
