It isn't so much that I don't think global warming exists I just have other concerns more urgent.

Honestly, personally:

I don't care about the argument at hand, the fact of the matter is that energy should be much cheaper and not reliant on a limited resource, controlled by a small handful of entities.

The best way to improve the grid right now would be to build more nuclear power plants, newer, that aren't ancient and could fail due to being old models, even if they've been remodeled to newer versions.

I realize that it's more complicated than that, but still...

I don't agree with the idea that we should bury our waste, but I also don't agree that we should keep using old reactors because they refuse to build new more efficient ones because people are scared of nuclear power.

(I also don't care about Iran having nuclear power plants, the level of enrichment difference between power plant grade and weapons grade are worlds apart).

That being said I'd eventually like us to get to be less reliant on the grid, but to do that we'd need better storage capabilities, and pretty much more efficient panels very widespread.

Yes, I'm in agreement with Tesla and that power should be free.

It's cute how a person who isn't a scientist thinks they know more than a consensus of scientists does, without having ANYTHING backing them up.

It would be funny if it weren't so sad.
True, but ask yourself this:

Why do you try?
because at times when others retort the nonsense (like Pleebo) I learn something, so something good comes from your neocon antics.

Even if that's twisted as ***.

When you present evidence that's arguing the right point then maybe people will give a ***, but you didn't even argue the right point, you fail sir.

Of course they would say that it is man-made. If they said otherwise, they would either be a heretic or out of a job.

They are being paid to say that it is man-made.

I know that is a hard concept for both of you, but people do what they are paid to do. If you were given a large sum of money to go around saying the earth is flat, I'm pretty sure you would do it in a heartbeat, and screw with your integrity.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenure
Yeah, and the sad thing is, throwing studies out there without definite proof and proclaiming "This is happening because if you look at the numbers on an uneven leap year during a harvest blue moon while tapdancing a polka upside down in an airplane dropping fast enough to eliminate the gravitational pull of Venus, you will see that I'm right and you are wrong" isn't "just cause" enough to remove tenure from said "professors" or "scientists."

I'm not saying tenure ensures the veracity or lack of bias of any given study or even that tenure itself doesn't have problems, just that you can't say that researchers have a financial interest in espousing one view on a given subject over another.

I mean, preventing that is the entire point of tenure.

You simply ask why in 3 paragraphs, I will give you a short answer. One side wants to tax the hold dog5hit out of everything no matter the excuse and will not stop until doing so.
I'll be brief: You're a *** idiot.

Related note: I feel really odd when debating what currently passes for today's conservatives in the United States. When I say, "What about the day after tomorrow?", I am quoting one of the most polarizing conservative icons of the past 100 years, one whom inspired many of the long-time politicians and pundits on the Republican side of the aisle. One major politician made all of his staff read the work I'm citing.

Neocons don't realize that the entire political sphere in the US has shifted to the right hardcore and they have blinders on and think it's the opposite.

Obama is mostly a centrist who passed legistlation that Republicans wrote 20 years ago, hell Reagan (their savior) wouldn't get past the primaries today). He'd probably be considered a RHINO and be called a socialist in disguise.

The mental gymnastics it takes to support these clowns is ridiculous.

Oh before people start playing partisan: I really dislike both parties, but there isn't a party that gets close to my ideals, so I side with what's closest, as both Republicans and Democrats (politicians) are fascist dickwads.

Whether CO2 is responsible for climate change or not, it blows my mind that there's people who deny its effects on health. In Milan there are frequent no-cars days because the air becomes so polluted that people get sick just opening the window.

And honestly all this talk of "personal agenda" that the usual paranoid characters make sounds really stupid. Unless we actually have oil industrialists here posting on this forum I sincerely doubt anyone of the posters has a personal agenda on the matter, they just give their honest opinion.

Mexico City was notorious for having horrible pollution due to the mountains trapping it in if I remember correctly, but that was years ago, never kept up with it.

Carbon emissions from vehicles/factories are obviously bad for you, but people care more about $ than their health.

Everything has moved in both directions (read another way: I actually agree with you, for once, in part). Government has gotten huge and controlling directly as a result of Republican maneuvering, which is a strongly leftist shift. On the other hand, the continually increasing income gap, trammeling of workers' rights, and extension of benefits to those with the most net worth is strongly rightist.

What has been happening for the past 30 years and has really reached a fever pitch in recent history has been a move towards polarized extremes. This is exactly why centrists like Barack Obama and, yes, George W. Bush, have been fairly ineffectual politicians in terms of influencing legislation (remembering that legislation isn't the President's job). Anyone who happens to recall the 2000 election with clarity should feel a little bad that Bush basically got used like a hand-puppet by his handlers in the RNC. Only a little, though.

Called what? Making your wrong point then saying but I'm sure you will disagree? Umm yeah of course I'll say the opposite of your obviously wrong conclusion. If politics moved to the right we would not have the "Leviathan" that is our federal government. Would we have more or less government agencies if we went to the right? The answer would be less. Would we have more or less government programs handing out money to people if we moved right? We would have less.

You have to be a complete retard to not see this. It's Jet so I am not surprised.

The Republicans are mostly responsible for the large increase in government, both parties are responsible for that, fascism is a large part of both parties voting platform. edit: well the increase during 2000-2008, but hey.

You don't understand what it means for the sphere to move though, which is clear by your response, so I don't blame you, you're ignorant. However I do blame you for being proud of being so wrong.

My comment was accurate and if you look beyond our own borders it's apparent.

But you missed my part about not liking fascism, so of course you missed that bit.

Oh, good, someone finally demonstrates what a liberal wingnut looks like.

I really don't get the claims that people on this site are liberal. I haven't seen anyone who even comes close in terms of far-left insanity to compare with the nonsense we see posted here daily in terms of far-right insanity. I almost wonder if the far-right conspirators are afraid to make fun of the real socialists and hippies because it would weaken their pandering insults against all the centrists, moderates, and apathetics that populate the P&R forum.

Didn't it help the rich the most? I mean, most of the 1% are the working rich, and they benefited from the tax cut the most.

So, in your mind, that's a bad thing, even though it also helped the middle class and the poor, but if it at least looks like it helps the rich, it is an evil thing and must be destroyed.

Besides, it was enacted bipartisan, and it was allowed to be expired bipartisan. Blaming the Republicans only just shows how ill-informed you truly are.

Which, for you, is par for the course.
