Not about Texas. Mos had some thirty-five-year-old goofball apply with zero references.

No professional or personal. We all agree that personal is kind of bunk.

Well, now I'm scared to ask what position he applied for and his prior experience. None of our business though.

Asking for personal and/or professional references is one of the dumbest things on a resume or application. Not sure what other countries do it besides the U.S., but everywhere I went wanted actual businesses they could call, not some schmuck who would vouch for me.

professional environments usually want to be able to go back to a former manager or something like that. It depends on the type of environment and what kind of work your doing though as well to determine what they'd be looking for in a reference.

Personal references are more for entry level jobs at most places where they can look to see if you can at least find some people to vouch for you lol... I remember when I was 16 and applying at Toys R Us and I was putting down family friends and such lol... I mean what kind of references do you expect from people in their teens?

Some people don't provide them because they're currently employed and it would create a conflict if you didn't get the position you were going after.

I could see that as your first job. But all you have to do is get a friend or two to exaggerate about you.

To be fair though the last job I had in the U.S. where I had to put down a personal reference, I was eager to put down someone with the name Moustafa. Never mind his credentials, lol.

I used to do his programming homework while he was getting one of his degrees and ended up living with him for a year. Life long reference with credentials now. One my 4 followers on twitter, lmao! (Yeah I have a secret twitter page, I'm not proud)

(Also like the fact he's got his own page on the university website, give him a buzz he'll always vouch for me)

Dude talked up my Linux skills just for lulz. (Inside joke)

Don't get me wrong, I like a chunk of honey-glazed ham. On a scale of ham to pear Buddha...Ham gets a 4.5.

Ready for this weird week to be over with.

At least it's sliced ham.

Chipped ham BBQ is a HUGE thing in the Pittsburgh reason, and it's *** disgusting. Too salty, too slimy...ugh.

I like the region I live in okay, and some of their food is out-of-the-park awesome. But some I can do without.

I'm generally a fan of the meat from the entire pig.

But it's a Pittsburgh thing, this "chip-chopped ham BBQ".

It's gross.

And it's got to be Isaly's ham and BBQ sauce for half of the people around here too, which is piling salt and processing on top of the gross.

Not to mention Isaly's advertising campaigns feature a woman that drives me literally insane whenever the ads come on during hockey games. So. Annoying.

I won't link the video here, because I don't hate anyone here that much.

I had to go take a peek before you put up a pic. That and the way you described it (salty), it doesn't sound that great.

Pork ribs, breakfast sausage, schnitzel and pulled pork are usually in the meal rotations. Honey-glazed ham for Easter/Christmas if we don't have goose, duck and/or turkey.

Just too much pork growing up. We had to cut down the red meat because teh lovebug has hypertension and thyroid problems that we found out about this spring. Trying to stick more to fish and poultry since then, which is tough when I get medium-rare steak or fajita cravings.

We tried to introduce No-Meat Mondays, but that ***ain't gonna fly in our house. LOL!
