Just gotten Yochi to 90 yesterday .. Did a run on Uptala .. thou i always know that Namas Arrow is not so much abt dmg but more on the low/no enmity.

But the dmg was still rather disappointing ... Tried both Str build and Agi build .. the dmg for both is between 600 - 800.

My wildfire does consistant 1500+. haha

I was tinking if my eq setup is not correct ... like to have some comments ^^

Str Set

Don't feel badly. Uptala is resistant to piercing damage. I'm fairly sure it's considered undead, so naturally Wildfire would do better damage.

You should use your STR set with:
Mirador trousers instead
Scout's socks +2 instead
Get flame pearl at least...

Namas is rather lackluster nowadays since there's Jishnu's
And it's Naraka mob.. it's almost always magical damage does better.

always always always always STR

As far as changes go
  • Rajas -> Pyrosoul (if you do not need the STP)
    Teutates Subligar -> Hachiryu Haidate
    Maat's Cap -> Cuauh. Headpiece +1
    Flame Earrings -> Vulcan Pearls

Minor upgrades for the most part, but upgrades.

str str and more str. Get rid of the gorget's/belts and replace them with str.

I love doing VW as ranger and spamming Namas arrow. Barrage's for 7k+ and Namas for 1500+(depending on food but you should be eating red curry anyways).

My namas seems to do a few hundred less than refulgent arrow(300TP refulgent arrow significantly better damage wise but full of enmity). However, I can sit there and spam namas arrows... or do a couple refulgent/apex(100tp)/sw(100tp) and start drawing hate...

A dead ranger is a useless ranger. I guarantee yoichi would outparse a gandiva head to head because the Gandiva will die fast while you still fire off ws's.

7 str 7 agi 11 rattk... what are you reading?

edit... i see it. you're comparing giving 3 more str.

I think personally this is preference. I've not noticed a difference in damage output of the 2. I just really prefer Scout's Bracers +2... you could be right though.

Few things:

You're doing it wrong if you're worrying about enmity in voidwatch. I sit right next to the mob and fire off 4-5k+ last stands (rcb, minuetx2), popping fanatic's drinks whenever necessary. I have an annihilator, so I could be using coronach, but it's absolutely pointless when you take 0 damage.

In response to OP: I always use armageddon vs uptala (and kalasutrax), and since you have one already, you should actually be using armageddon vs every VW mob, and using last stand, not namas arrow.

Yoichi is a decent weapon for SAM. It's not a good weapon for RNG. There are so many easier and better options: armageddon, annihilator, magian gun, gandiva (/sadface) etc.

I'll toss in another lolbow to conclude.

God forbid someone who knows what they're talking about tell you that you're not playing optimally, give you pointers on what you could do better, and explain it all clearly and concisely without resorting to personal attacks and rudeness.

Two things: One, Bacon, go away. Two, Helel's suggestions are spot on. You're going to cap your enmity through TP damage regardless of your WS choice, so you may as well be using the one that eclipses the other.

Oh, and for the love of Allah, don't fire from far away. You're only serving to slow the fight and endanger others at range.

Let's not resort to personal insults, unless you're aching for a topicban. You either agree, or you don't, plain and simple.

Sidewinder - accuracy is non-issue for any relevant stuffs.
Refulgent & Apex Arrow - No comment. I don't quite understand how these 2 work in detail
Namas Arrow - useless, as stated above.
Jishnu's Radiance - 2~3% crit dmg up. But your base crit at 100TP probably already sitting at ~42~48% crit damage.

Namas Arrow - useless? I find it funny that the people with yoichi's and have actually experimented know what they're talking about and those that have never touched it just look from the outside and think they know whats going on.

Damage multiplier is 2.75 regardless of tp.
Look at what he's talking about: tp bonus Moonshade.
