DNC decent tank?
im looking to do some seal NMs. and don't really have anything up tank wise, other then DNC. due to their eva, self heals and fandance, do they make good seal tanks?

as long as you're dealing a sufficient amount of damage and have cures present, anything makes a good tank inside abyssea

Well. I know of a 5 man group that consists of this: DNC, BLU, BLM, WHM, BRD or THF. Half the time the WHM doesn't show up and it doesn't affect the performance of the group

thanks trist. i don't feel like going the obvious route with MNK as my tank. job is boring as balls. i love DNC tho

DNC makes a fine tank. Use RR at least, GH supplements it well. For the third, either use VV for the extra TP or Apoc for the offensive stats, quick magic, and RR3 in case ***hits the fan. I've tanked many an NM on THF weakened without much difficulty (As long as its not being fed TP, that is).

i still havn't been able to get RR, which sucks. first and last time i did it, *** bugged, havn't been able to get a group since
If you want to do harder things like duo'ing caturae, you could slap on an evasion atma instead of VV or Apoc and it makes things so much easier.

Use GH then. Those two atmas will be the staple of your hate. Dagger users have low attack in general - forcing crits will remedy that, and give you a high output that will compare with other DDs.

Not to mention DNC has no problem getting close to the delay cap especially if your BLM rolls /WHM.

i have VV and stout arm currently. i dont even know what GH is. i recently came back from a 2 month hiatus
DNC is actually a very good tank. We lowman seals all the time you can even lowman Body seals and some +2 jewel/card NMs with a DNC tank.

Sobek is easily trio'd. You could gnab his atma np. I'd also suggest organizing a RR run. Seriously, these will turn your DNC into a monster.

Well it is certainly better than PLD!
GH is significantly better than SA or VV for pretty much anyone with with a good crit ws that doesn't have str mods. And yeah you kinda need RR too.
VV+GH+RR? sounds like a good combo to me, gotta get like 3 more zone bosses tho

Seeing as you can tank nearly anything inside on THF/nin, DNC/nin would be an excellent tank provided you can fill in the evasion bonus (daggers anyone). It actually might be more advantageous because of self healing, you may be able to skirt by without a WHM (unless procing).
