Found the issue.
One of the rules in my adblock's social media blocking list was flagging it. Guess it considered the pinterest widget part of the link to be a social media button.
Edit.. here is the specific rule that caused the issue...

I mean, outside of the obvious problems your brother has, he's clearly lacking in culinary sensibilities if he's just swapping the two in and out for each other. They do not play the same in all recipes and applications!
He only puts a spoon in his morning breakfast...

Brown sugar has an absolute tiny trace of minerals due to the molasses content. Otherwise it's just sugar. It is practically identical calorically, higher by just a teeny bit, if anything.
They're basically the same in every measurable fashion.
Edit: their difference culinarilly speaking is a matter of flavor and texture.
