yeah, I took it to my tech guys, they opened it up and pretty much had to scrap everything but the screen, which they gave me 75 bucks for.
hmm, unless your chip needed reballed (or other physical damage) it was most likely good, but then again depending on the age, even a power jack fix isn't worth the effort.
Depending on the laptop getting certain things out is a real pain in the arse. Offline

well, it was basically a 350 dollar fix for an older laptop, so it was just better to get a new one - which I had been planning to do for a while.
Just not before Christmas -.- oh damn, if it were just the plug I'd do it for $40 + parts, but you're in our hat, so silly import taxes, etc.
(I'd say $20, but holy hell do I hate tearing apart laptops). Offline

don't forget the transportation costs of items over a certain weight limit.
A laptop shouldn't be too much, in the states I'd get away with a usps flat rate box.
On another note: I hope I get this job I'm after, as I'd actually like to buy people presents this year... Offline

But would you back read 39 pages? :D

I wouldn't do that, not even for a York Peppermint Patty.

God damn that gif!
it's just such a magical one that can make almost anyone sorry for anything! Bloodrose said: » what kind of job? I don't back read 40 pages a day on here to find out things. Desktop Support Technician is the job title, but I'd basically be installing new desktops or moving current ones, coordinating with the on site staff to get the users set up, etc. Between two hospitals near here, the one of which I worked with before, so I know the other techs there. I think about the only thing that would be the pain is the printer support at the other one (and at this one if they ended their other contract) cuz eww printers, and all of the paperwork. But it beats 7-11. Offline

I mean I don't mind it, it's basically going to be a bunch of *** that the other tech will have to finish anyway, but I imagine there may be a ticketing system that I have to deal with besides there's and if I'm right, oh joy Offline

I figured you of all people would have gotten a printer joke.

I figured that might be what you were referencing, just wasn't sure. Happiest part about getting this job (if I do) I won't have to watch people lick their *** fingers to count money anymore, humans are gross.

Ugh, yeah that ***is nasty. Also hate watching women, particularly the obese (and I mean REALLY obese) pull money from their sideboobs leading into their armpits.

When my wife and I go out of state and especially out of country she'll place her I.D. card, a credit card, and a $100 bill in her bra for emergencies. That video made me laugh remembering the first time I saw her stuff those items into her bra, it was a wtf o.O moment.

I come from a food service industry back ground. That is a health hazard nightmare. And just plain nasty.
Then again, I wear shirts and khakis/jeans with so many pockets, not even the God of Pick Pockets could swipe what he wanted from me on the first try. Offline

Public service announcement like that should be viral. I have it saved to my phone
Paragon of Paladin Excellence Next time you hold dollar bills, just remember that there's a chance it's been sitting next to some old hag's titties.

next stage after the gold glowing curtana/holy shield I've heard is excaliber, but I've not been able to find anything concrete about it. Way to go on the upgrade, farming the atma alone is daunting as hell
