So here's the deal; I like DRK, I would like to level it. I would also like a decent zerg build that won't break the bank. I'm 8/8 merits on Gaxe thanks to war75. I own a Fort axe. I'm going to need 3/5 desperate blows merits w/Hasso to cap JA haste?

Pro's? Cons? Would a Scythe build be better than this? thoughts..anyone?

Define break the bank. Mkris doesn't cost that much especially compared to say homam.

As far as your question depends on the scythe. Wait... doesn't RC generally do better than fort ax!?! Assuming high lvls of haste. Like capped magic capped ja and with with RC capped gear haste.

Also 5/5 blows and /mnk might do better or /drg for more gear haste. At least during the Blood weapon phase

Break the bank like M.Kris would break the bank XD

I really have no idea on RuneChopper numbers vs FortAxe numbers, And /mnk or /drg interests me..

You don't really need much gear haste if you're already capping on JA and magic haste 80 - 25 - 43.75 = 12~% haste to cap which is pretty easy to get. And if you're capping haste anyways , definitely Fort over RC.

Invalid Item Set

Ummm....

Right.

6hit doesn't matter at all with zerging... You will not WS while bloodweapon is up as the drain effect doesn't work on WS.

All you do for the zerg is pop your JAs and engage, wait 30-40 seconds then you weapons skill, by which point you should have more TP that you know what to do with.

The aim is to get as many swings in the 30second period as possible, so sword strap > pole.

Get rid of rajas, the STR is going to do very little and you don't need the sTP.

You can also forget about accuracy, as you will buffed up to the eyeballs and the mob will be Feinted.

You should be looking at something like:
Fort/sword/ /stone
Turban/Cougar Pendent/Physical Earring/Brutal
Gloom/Dusk/Bomb Ring/Bomb queen ring
High Breath Mantle/Swift/Venders Slops/dusk

That will give you 14% hast in gear, combined with 5/5 DB or 3/5 DB + Hasso you will cap haste.

Most of that is either AH gear or stuff you already have.

So for someone with no Homam Cosciales would it be better to use sable cuisses instead of the breastplate? Since I have no haste for that slot I could wear cuisses and hauby/askar(?) body?

Neck piece would eventually become ritter when I get enough amps, the rings I'm still camping or hoping to get some folks together for. Everything else I pretty much have, and dusk beats askar/aurum for feet and hands?

Would this be a feasible zerg set until obvious improvements could be made? Sorry for all the questions XD

edit; oh ***ya, forgot how much hp dusk have..

Dusk or Vender/Princes slops for legs with Gloom Breastplate.

fort axe with 8/8 GA merits will do a decent amount of damage.

Mkris is better though.

Set up for zerg set should be gloom breastplate + Haste > HP > rest

Mine still needs work

With SV Marches x2, Haste (Spell), Desperate Blows/Hasso, you only need 12% in gear to cap haste. While things are situational, the only time DRK/DRG is the best option for a 2handed zerg is if you have full Desperate Blows merits and lack SV Marches and/or Haste (Spell). Even then, I'd still prefer /SAM to have that extra 10% haste when Last Resort wears and the mob is still standing. /DRG is usually reserved for KC/MK/Ridill zerg setups.

Because it adds magic haste, and uses up a gear slot that could be towards your gear cap.

Magic haste is easy to cap (SV march x2 and haste).

Gear haste isn't very easy to cap (without subbing DRG).

But isn't haste 15% both marches from brd roughly 20% so 35%
cap is 43% so your still get 8% haste from haste belt 2% more then v.belt or am I wrong?

Marches are ~9 and ~11% normally
Haste is 15%

Soul voice doubles the effect of the song, so under SV marches become ~18 and ~22% (40% total).

18+22+15 = 55 (capped down to 43%)

A absolutely pimped (Ghorn etc) BRD can cap magic haste with just SV marches, a normal BRD needs some one to cast haste to make up the difference.

But if you aren't getting SV march x2 then you can use haste belt as you are getting 10% from your waist rather than the 4-6% you would get otherwise.

If it counted as JA haste then it would be sexy.
