I keep having to delete posts made by English-speaking users in the Japanese forum.

The contributions of non-Japanese users are welcome in the dedicated Japanese language forum, and vice-versa. We greatly encourage greater communication between the English and Japanese speaking FF communities.

However, it is not creative nor original to hijack threads with posts like "I wish I spoke Japanese" or "What are you guys saying LOL" in a forum where the users can't speak English to begin with. This includes versions of the above that have been poorly translated into incomprehensible Japanese via an automatic translator like Babelfish.

Such posts will be deleted as soon as I find them, and I will deactivate accounts of repeat offenders.

Lol. I saw one of Jaerik's posts earlier today on a JP thread, and I was curious, so I ran it through babelfish just to see what they might be saying.

It apparently roughly translated to "Soviet Union ... encouragement .... encouragment .... encouragement .... character".

I was like .... I think I'll stick to the NA ones.

Incidentally, in the interests of fairness, this also holds true if a Japanese user were to spam the English forums with Japanese that no one could read either. FFXIAH.com's user base is roughly split equally between English and Japanese speaking users.

So far this hasn't happened even once, however, while the reverse has happened many times.

Translator use is so obvious.

Mainly, anything that starts with "私は" was generated by a translator, aside for a few random cases. :P

Some cultures prefer not to advertise their ignorance by shouting it across the internet like hyperactive baboons.

To paraphrase a famous poet:
"Mo' forum users, mo' problems."

All cultures have ignorant jerks willing to shout it from the rooftops.

I remember that poet, though...
Sire Puff the Dragon Combs? :O

Yes, but it's the percentages that seem skewed.
