(Request) Tattoo removal from Hebenus Gilet
I was wondering if it's possible for someone to remove the low poly tattoo on the Hebenus Gilet from the Celestial Night event? it Looks so bad!
I'm terrible at photoshop, but I gave it a try. The dat your looking for is ROM folder 381, dat number 51. The issue with removing just the tatoo is that they tried to make this a high definition model and beefed up the muscle tone, so it was a little tricky to get the surface area to not look wonky after removing the tatoo. I think this is fairly ok though. If someone else with better editing skills wants to give it a try be my guest.

Thank you so much for taking the time you wonderful amazing human being, I couldn't get it to work unfortunately, is it because I'm not a hume like in the pictures? (I'm a galka)
Yes, it's because you're galka. The file I edited was for hume male. I play mithra and mine doesn't have a tatoo. I wasn't aware all the M races had a tatoo. I can redo the edit for the galka one later, just need to find the proper location for it.
Justice for galkas! I would super appreciate it when you get around to it. I like to cosplay as the hulk (would it also be too much to ask for the bracelet to be removed?)
Quote: (would it also be too much to ask for the bracelet to be removed?) Yes actually, it would. The only software capable of adding or removing polygons from a FFXI model is a program called virtual reality studio. It's a japaneese program that I don’t know how to use (the UI is a horrendous disaster), and it requires a monthly subscription fee to even open. I can't do anything about the bracelet, but I can try to fix up the galka tattoo later tonight. Ok, I finished up the galka edit. It actually came out looking a LOT cleaner than the hume one. The galka have much darker skin pigmentation which made the edit blend together a lot cleaner. The dat location you want to overwrite is ROM folder 381 / Dat number 95

Even if I COULD delete the bracelet for you, you wouldn't want me to do that. Unlike Final fantasy 14 where the models are all one continuous body piece, in FF 11 our models are made up of 6 separate parts. Head armor, face, body armor, hand armor, leg armor, and foot armor are all independant of one another. Deleting the bracelet would misalign the hands with the body and you'd end up with an open seam between the two where you could see straight through your character. It would be some kind of dullahan-esque abberation, and you don't want that. This is what your character looks like if you delete the entire body dat. Deleting just the bracelet (or more specifically, the polygons that make up the bracelet) would have the exact same effect on that one specific area. You would see right through it in game. There is literally nothing beneath that bracelet. ![]() Enjoy the edit. As always, make sure to back up your original BEFORE installing a new dat. That way if something goes wrong you can revert the change. Uuuuuuuu hell yeah this looks amazing thank you so much!! No stress about the bracelet, this is more than I could have hoped for. I did not imagined it would be so janky (I also noticed the arms on galka already look detachable like an action figure's). If you have a patreon or paypal let me know I'd love to show you support! Thanks again for your amazing generosity!

Sorry to nitpick - while this is absolutely true for nearly all armor in FFXI, the exception is armor that spans multiple slots ("cannot equip ___ gear"). These kinds of armor generally have models for their equip-slot, and empty DATs for the other slots. For example, this is just the Hebenus Gilet body-model: ![]() Asura.Melliny said: » The only software capable of adding or removing polygons from a FFXI model is a program called virtual reality studio. XimTool can also handle it :) I think your right about the bracelet. The swimsuit models are pretty unique because they're only 2 pieces instead of 4, so the body is actually both body and hands, and legs are both legs and feet. My understanding is that when this happens the game uses an empty dat for the armor slot not shown, in this case being hands and feet (I guess someone initially called it cannot equip ___ slot because that's how it's labeled in the model viewer). There is actually a dat being used but it has no model to display.
That said, I've never used Xim Tool either. If anyone wants to take a crack at removing the bracelet feel free. Maybe I'll try sometime but I'm busy this weekend so it wouldn't be for a bit. |
