So why do you keep bumping this tired thread?
Well the primary motivation to dig this up again this time was the news about the steam controller or much more the charging puck being a potential fire hazard.
I can imagine some here bought one and might not be aware.

Sony's policy of only refunding if you've not started download is illegal in the EU.

Love to see someone take them to court over it.

I was gonna post that they might have alternate conditions for EU, but thats not the case:

https://www.playstation.com/en-gb/legal/playstation-store-cancellation-policy/
UK has the same policy

https://www.playstation.com/fr-fr/legal/playstation-store-cancellation-policy/?country-selector=true
France has the same policy

14 days of purchase provided you have not started the download.

I'm not sure what other countries would be in languages I understand, but I think 2 EU countries is sufficient.

It seems they might be using an exclusion:

Isn't this just literally the difference between being a publicly traded company (who have a fiduciary responsibility to their stock holders - which is bad, btw.) vs being a private company, who do not.

Games companies are not the only ones trying to nickel and dime you. Everything is. Because the monies drying up, but they gotta grow!

Yeah, more or less. General trend though is not only pursuit of

I do agree there. The same people up in arms about Sony's removal of physical media will 100% buy GTA6.

This seems like a perfectly fine place to let everyone know that I prefer EA and Ubisoft keys over Steam keys when the Steam store page says it will open those launchers anyway. It just feels right.

I doubt Steam will fall, but if anything were to happen, all my eggs aren't in 1 basket, even if that basket is most likely to survive in terrible times

I just don’t buy their games—why would I pollute my PC with that crap or support that practice? That’s why EA doesn’t do that ***anymore with BF6 but I only put in 20hours since it was released (Already got more time on Wardogs), and Ubisoft makes games for the modern audience

EA and Ubisoft launchers are viruses and rootkits. Why would you willingly install that junk on your pc.

For years many have complained about EA & Ubi's launchers. I must have extreme luck because I have rarely had an issue with them. I don't mind having multiple launchers for all of my PC games so it's not a big deal to me. It would be useful to have an all in one though, but I'd have a lot of repeats from GoG & Steam.
