"Being annoying" is adequate reason to dislike something.
I wouldn't bat an eye if the HorizonXI community were as well-behaved as Eden's or Catseye's communities. The fact that you can't go to any YouTube video or Twitch stream or media post without someone preaching the Good Word of the Almighty Aerec-P gets grating after a while.
Most of us would be OK to ignore HorizonXI if its community would just let us ignore it.
It is actually just for crapping on Horizon, the rest of them don't go around bugging us ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Every time a person comes into the windower discord and waste 30mins of our time before going "oh I am on a private server, and I am blocking windower updates cuz it is an era server, or the server hasnt kept up with LSB updates, or broke my retail install" chips away at my ability to give a crap about that corner of the community.
As a result I do not like Nasomi and I do not like Horizon.
Then you see these people blatantly flaunting ill gotten gains and saying "Come play on horizon" all over the place, and bastardizing a game I love. It is disappointing, I want to see a private server that is working to preserve the game as it exists on retail, because one day it will get turned off and I might want somewhere to go, but it sure as hell will not be to a place where the "devs" have deformed the game to conform to their "Oh wouldn't it be cool if..." world.
Sad to see so many people from retail cheering to ruin people’s nostalgia and enjoyment.

I don’t see daily threads or videos about the death of retail like I do here for PSs. And if I do it’s USUALLY from active players lol. If I go on the FFXI subreddit I find ALOT of support for new players looking to get in, and those thread aren’t flooded with retail hate generally. So please direct me to all the retail hate threads.

This sub forum was just created only recently, before that we barely talked about them or any other PS. It's all over comments across anything FFXI related, I know because I have been subbed to them for over a decade and I see them all the time since last year. Go look at most youtube videos if you haven't seen it lol.

Rub still has the patience of a saint though, I usually tap out when it gets half as bad as he usually handles XD

Ive been playing the real ffxi for over two decades. The game has been out of 75 cap longer than it was ever in it. These people are delusional, they somehow think they are playing the "correct" version of ffxi. Even though this is the version sanctioned by the company and devs that made it. You are exping for content on a buggy backwards engineered mess. Filled with people who couldnt leave dragons aery behind and advance. You could write a whole book on the psychology behind this mentality, its so weird. Abyssea really created that many haters lol.
