A few years ago, the developers changed a lot of the files in the game. They removed a lot dat files for monsters (mostly duplicates or similar with a slightly diff weapon) and they also changed the locations of some map files.

Very often you can see the maps you have installed and the maps XIDB shows are different, are they showing the proper locations or are they showing the old map locations?

If they are showing the old locations, some maps will show on old installs but possibly be showing blank on new ones?

By "the maps you have installed", do you mean you're installing other maps into the FFXIDB\map folder?

By default, FFXIDB loads the maps directly from the DATs as far as I know.

I mean installing modded maps for ffxi show these modded maps via the map function, but ffxidb does not show them and instead shows the old normal maps.

Which means it's getting them from the old location, and on new installs they no longer exist there (in some cases)

Thanks for the clarification.

Looked into it and it appears that the FFXIDB plugin is using a static, manually maintained DAT mapping that has not been updated in something like 6 years.

This may be something we can fix either through manual corrections or a more permanent solution by dynamically loading the map DATs (or both). Will need to investigate a bit more.

Mainly they took maps from expansions folders and put them all into rom.

It would be awesome if an option was added to use the map files from a folder in the addon.

With HD maps files the addon doesn't work properly now.

I noticed today that the HD (remaspster) map now shows in the FFXIDB map circle. Awesome!

Apradar will pickup right maps with some edit on map.ini
( big advantage with Apradar is full map overlay )
map 112_0 is the base, need to be copied and created too as 85_0

map.ini should point out too :
