Outriders had a solid demo, that's the only thing worth tuning in for.
Something about FFXVI. One can almost bet some money on it.
FFXVI is just going to be devil may cry meets ff art style, button mashing (For 90% of the players), confusing combos barely anyone understands and aching hands.
They are trying to appeal to the mass market by making an action combat final fantasy game, unless they heavily westernize the story and try for some GoT thing that is not going to go well.
I would bet money they will shove some kind of online play into this game too of some sort (pvp probably), purely to make money off the cash shop sales that enables and magnifies. Since Yoshi is involved with it and all.

Unless you are specifically making an online game, you shouldn't just "add" on online aspects to a game like Final Fantasy.
GTA5 made too much money and they have already proved it works with 14, guaranteed they are going to do it in some way as many other JP studios have been trying. It'll be a single player game but they will tack some online thing into it and put a cash shop there, people spend way more on cash shop items if other people can see them.
I would not be surprised to see lots of actual monster models directly lifted from Ff14 in this new game too to cut costs, they already set the precedent to do that.

Setting aside that they invested a bunch of money in it, the plan has always appeared to be for an ongoing game, so they're likely just following through.

Pretty much, they know they can take our money, cause this game is more addictive than hard drugs it seems. I doubt we could get anything serious let alone a new job until Resurgence is finished out. I remember the scuttlebutt at the time being that this mini-expansion was them needing people who could make cut-scenes since the original staff had moved on.
It would be great to see another phase of the game open up again, but I might as well wish for an at home jetpack.
